Adam could get zero votes and they’d save him. I hope he meets with great success - he’s no spring chicken compared to the rest and he obviously works very hard. I feel a bit like American Idol is beneath him - he is likely a triple threat (haven’t seen him dance) and they keep talking about recording contracts - he needs to be burning up a stage.

Oh, seiclan, best comment on the entire thread. :)

laxmom, you obviously grew up in the Phila. area.

Loved Adam, Anoop, and Matt.

My bottom three would be Megan, Scott, and Michael, although Lil wouldn’t be far behind. I hope that Megan goes home. Her performances make me feel embarrassed for her.

I’ve kept quiet until now…but that Megan’s “shake” when she sings reminds me of a 5th grader trying hard at a school talent show.

Adam is in a whole other league than the other contestants IMO.

noop dog!! little on the safe side recently, but im so glad he was given another shot

My son and I can barely watch the show this season. I think we are going to have to do major fast-forwarding – through everything but the actual singing. The show just feels so bloated this season. I wish they would separate Simon and Paula. I thought her dress was ridiculous tonight – I can’t really imagine too many people over the age of 18 pulling it off well. I feel their banter is disrespectful to the contestants. There is way too much talking. I don’t know why but this season does not seem good to me.

I agree…too much talking from the judges, esp. Paula who just rambles on without really saying anything. Notice how at the end, they had to rush everything…“OK Smokey, tell me what you thought about the show…You have 10-15 seconds”. The producers need to somehow get Paula to limit her rambles. The crayon thing was just silly.

Megan, Mike and Scott…gotta go.

I have to say I was not a fan of Allison’s until last night. And I do not even like that song. But that girl can sing. I think though, and not to sound like Simon, she dresses and acts way too old. That with the maturity of her voice may impact her votes. The teeny boppers are the major voting block and she will need to reach them to survive on the show. But she is amaxingly talented.
Adam remains my favorite. Unfoturnately, although I really like Danny, he reminded me of Taylor Hicks last night.
I agree with the padding in the show this year. THey should cut it to an hour and then Ryan would shut up the rambling judges.

^^ Yeah, it’s not fair to the last 2 performers to get cut short because of the early ramblings. This year is kinda painful to watch. Although I don’t care for Adam, he is clearly much better than AI. I think I would enjoy watching him on the broadway stage.

My top 2 last night were Adam & Allison. Bottom 3: Scott, Michael, & Megan. Everyone else was just ok. I was disappointed with Lil. I thought she would really stand out but she was blah.

I think Scott should go. He’s a nice guy, and I wish he was a better singer cause I would like for him to do well, but he sounds like he’s singing the same song every week. Megan was really bad last night, but I think she can do better. I don’t think Scott can.

laxmom - it is unfortunate that talented people can be successful by Broadway standards and still struggle mightily financially. I think Adam is better than American Idol too but if he can use it as a platform to make some money, he’ll be able to do what he wants and I think he’s shown us that he will do what he wants. I’d love to know what his real dream is - maybe it is sitting in a recording studio churning out top 10 hits and then touring, but I’d be surprised by that. I assume this is his first attempt at AI. If being an AI star is his dream, he could have had it several years ago.

cartera45 - I agree with you completely about Adam. He is a huge talent and I hope that AI can help him fulfill his dream. My D and I both hope that dream is the stage!

The show was way too long last night! My D said why is it on for 2 hours when there are only ten people singing one song, that’s about 25 minutes plus some comments!

They could knock off a minute or two by just getting rid of the ridiculous intro for the judges/Ryan. Do that before the show.

The show is long for a ratings reason - nothing else. They could probably drag it out for several more hours and the ratings would be higher than much of what is on Fox - and the other networks too for that matter.

…39 pages of American Idol discussion? õ.O

"cartera45 - I agree with you completely about Adam. He is a huge talent and I hope that AI can help him fulfill his dream. My D and I both hope that dream is the stage!

For me, I haven’t voted for him on AI because he “ain’t my cup o’ tea” in this venue.
Let’s see what happens next week…who knows, he may surprise me :)

I voted for the first time ever last night - for Chris and Anoop. I figured I would vote for the ones I’m not sure the judges would save. It was fun hitting the redial button but I didn’t have the patience to keep at it for long.

A friend just e-mailed me a YouTube link of Adam singing “Quiet Desperation.” Oh, my. Beautiful.

How is Matt in the Bottom 3?!

 How is Megan not in bottom 3!!!
