New American Idol thread

That Danny performance may have been the worst AI performance in a final 4 show ever… I think I would rather hear that William Hung guy sing again…

Both - Adam is tall and Allison is short. An inch above where Allison is is where it reaches average territory.

That’s why I only voted for Allison.

The Danny scream was pretty awful. It made him sound like an Adam wannabe but fell way short. I like Chris better than Danny. I think one of them will go home. I’m hoping it’s Danny.

I actually like Kara. I get bored of Randy. He has a vocabulary of about 7 words, two of which are dawg and one is a’right.

I think at this stage of the competition to have a genre that is in the wheel house of two contestants is wrong. Then you throw in the duet thing and it is a pure Adam set up.
Adam has NEVER gone first until tonight and then he gets to go last with the duet.
Go Kris!!

Endicott, don’t forget “pitchy” and “dude”, so that leaves 3 more words.

Adam has not always gone last. I remember using the same redial two weeks in a row because he was the same numerical position, yet there were more contestants the prior week. There is no conspiracy.
As for Randy, don’t forget “this is a singing competition”.

and the correct word for Randy is “aiight.” ;)

The genre for each week is chosen before the final group is even selected so that the mentors can be booked.

curious, that’s right. Adam has had the last spot only twice, same as Kris, according to a report I heard on one of the morning shows this morning.

“Here’s the thing”

The point is not going last but going first. I read that historically the contestants going first have a much bigger chance of being in the bottom.
I am not saying that rock was picked for Adam but rather at this point (final 4) it should be a wider range for selection so it doesn’t end up being an advantage for any of the contestants.
Also, the duet thing was lame. Let them each sing two as in years past. Pairing Danny and Kris against Allison and Adam was a foregone conclusion as to who would fare better.

keymom, each of them has gone first only once. I agree with you about the duets. Each contestant should be able to perform two songs each at this point, just as they have in previous years but they can’t do that because there’s not enough time. The addition of the fourth judge has been a mistake.

Well, I have four. “For me, for you.” He says that all the time, sometimes a few times in one critique. We joke about that quite a bit at our house.

keymom- I thought you were complaining in your prior post that it was a set up FOR Adam to go first. Others have said that they thought he went last often and that was done for his benefit. I think they draw for their places in the order. So it is random. Does anyone know how they determined the pairings for the duets? And I do not think there is any “set up” beyond the judges last week trying really hard to compliment all the singers to keep the competition a horse race.
“Dawg, listen, dude, for me, for you, it was just aiight.”

don’t forget “yo” for Randy…I think we’re up to 10 word vocabulary by now.

I think the next vote is to vote Randy off the show!

I’ll admit that I was starting to think it was set up for Adam to go last or near the end. I wondered if, based on his initial popularity, they were afraid people would tune in just to hear him and then turn it off. I did my part for Chris last night. I voted over and over for him - threw in a few for Adam too.

Local radio station here in town said that Adam will be on with them this Friday morning if he makes the top 3. They also said that tomorrow they will announce where he will be going after the radio interview here in San Diego. They will be filming the top 3 going to their homes towns so Adam will be here in San Diego. DD has the AP US History test Friday morning but said she will be done at lunch and wants to go wherever Adam will be. I asked if she was going to get some friends together to go see him and she said no that she wanted mom to go with her!

I had to crack up when Kara was singing the praises of the “ROCK GOD”…I beg to differ. ;)

I actually thought that Adam was wearing a little thin last night. I got the impression that it was all an act on his part. I’m not sure I can tell who the real Adam is. He’s such an actor, his delivery is perfect theatrical. Without a doubt, he can sing. But a rock star? Not sure anymore.

My cable has been out since this afternoon, so I will have to “watch” here with my CC family. I want details; don’t leave anything out!!
