<p>I love my Grohe but it was very expensive. I think about $800 with the contractor’s discount - or that could have been before the discount. It’s been four years, so.</p>
<p>Love my Grohe faucets…going on 20+ years in kitchen and bathrooms and NO troubles. They aren’t cheap but they never leak or break.</p>
<p>I paid $372.49 for my Ladylux Plus all-stainless steel faucet (but they carry all finishes) in January 2004. I believe you can still find them around $400 if you shop around. Try going to Amazon…</p>
<p>Delta is a good brand. I found out from the company a few years ago that the same model number will be the same faucet if bought from a plumber or discount store. Some brands will offer different model numbers for a given model- higher quality parts through plumbers. Had to install it myself as plumbers wouldn’t install one I bought (got it on sale and waited too long to be able to return it)- they all stated their insurance wouldn’t let them. The hardest part was removing the old faucet due to a bit of rust making it almost impossible to loosen joints. The next hardest part was being on the floor with back against cabinet edges and trying to see with a flashlight and bifocals (angle such that distance part/reading part wrong for a tight space). Be aware that you may need to cover existing holes in your sink if you buy a fixture with fewer parts, eg the sprayer. replaced a Kohler one, I believe (did support the local, ie instate, industry- their products other than faucets much better durability I have found).</p>

<p>Update…the faucet’s two leaks were because something needed to be tightened. DH got out his wrench and tightened it…but agreed that it needed to be replaced. The “white” is chipping off (I actually “painted” it with White Out). So…tomorrow, armed with your suggestions…I’m off to the plumbing supply store and Lowes and Home Depot.</p>
<p>Do they carry the Grohe Ladylux in the Costco stores? I have a friend who is a member who will take me with her! I really like the look of that one…but I have to see these in person.</p>

<p>^^ its not a problem. Just about any package will have an option plate to cover 3 holes. I just put in mine, the problem is to remove those unused parts, eg sprayer and soap dispenser, hot water dispenser etc. The ones I had were rusted in I had to saw them off, it took a lot of elbow grease. I worked til 2am to get it done.</p>
<p>I replaced my Grohe kitchen faucet twice because the hose inside of the pull out handle failed - even the top of the line hose is made of plastic (at least it was a few years ago). The only faucet I could find with a stainless steel hose is Franke - a brand which I’ve found to be of superior quality to most others.</p>
<p>Moen guarantees their faucets for as long as you own it. They are great to deal with.</p>
<p>That’s interesting Gourmet. My Grohe kitchen faucets inside hose is stainless steel and I’ve had mine for 4 years.</p>

<p>I’ve never seen a Grohe faucet at Costco, only Hansgrohe. You could call ahead to find out what they have in stock as the faucet inventory can be a bit hit or miss.</p>

<p>Gourmetmom made a great point. The insides of the pullout matter! My cheapo Moen faucet has a ss hose which looks shiny and brand new compared to the faucet itself. Granted, this faucet was made at least 12 1/2 years ago when commodities prices were not so sky high… I saw a lot of $200+ faucets with plastic-y hoses at Lowe’s while I was waiting for DH who was trying to select a PVC pipe of the right diameter (don’t ask!) this weekend.</p>
<p>jym - I saw the Delta faucet in action at a local bath hardware store. I had to pull DH away from it :)</p>
<p>I did a bit more “research” on my faucets. I was incorrect - the Grohe hose is stainless. I still have a Grohe pull out faucet in my cabana that is several years old, which I just checked. It’s actually the very top piece - the part with the sprayer attached - that is stainless steel colored plastic. My memory is a bit foggy, but my H reminded me that the top plastic piece broke on two different faucets.</p>
<p>We just finished a house/kitchen remodel. Our contractor advised the Delta faucet with pull-down sprayer and the little “arm” on the side that controls the water flow/temp. It is brushed stainless but I think it came in chrome also. It came from Lowes. Cost about $200. So far I like it.</p>
<p>FYI - the Hansgrohe faucet on Coscto dot com comes with a nylon hose. Plastic does have a short usable life because it becomes brittle with time due to exposure to O2 from the atmosphere.</p>
<p>Built our house 9 years ago–installed Dornbracht faucets in the kitchen–one in the prep sink has a great sprayer. It’s designed for filling pots. Other sink has a regular pull out sprayer. Both faucets and sprayers are chrome. I had a Moen faucet in my old house and it rusted out quickly.</p>
