New USNews Rankings are in!

I think the news that “Legally Blonde” was based on UChicago would surprise Amanda Brown, the author of the book on which the movie was based. It’s semi-autobiographical and based on Ms. Brown’s experiences at Stanford Law.

The school was switched to Harvard because the producers feared that the great American public wouldn’t realize how highly ranked Stanford is and because they also thought a ditzy blonde in California wouldn’t be as funny as a ditzy blonde in Cambridge, Mass.

It’s nice to see DePaul getting the respect it deserves.

Jonri, I was a little wrong. It wasn’t the writers who set it in UChicago orginally but the producers.

I echo Jonri on this one.

Amanda Brown’s novel does place the lovely Elle Woods at Stanford Law… fantastic book, although it lacks the girl power of the movie.
