Hello Posters,
I am looking for NYC housing info as well from Florida on behalf of my son who will be starting Cardozo law in May. The school housing isn’t available until the fall so he is in need of summer housing in the Village area. Have applied to the NYU Law housing but no promises there. Anyone have any other suggestions ? Thank you so much!

Hi, I’m also looking for housing in the New York City area. My internship will be located on 66th West Street. I’ve been searching forums and trying to find different places. So far, I have scratched NYU out. I am trying to get into Columbia’s Housing for the summer registered for a space but didn’t get to the part of the application where I could pay the money for some reason. Any suggestions or more places to look?

My daughter just got a house-sitting (cat feeding) job for an apartment on Riverside Drive for June. She gets to live in a great apartment in a great area, and gets paid to do it! It’s all about networking.

fwiw my son stayed at NYU Law School dorm @ Mercer and Broad —not Broadway but near it—for his summer internship. It was suggested by his career center. Much of the dorm (it’s a high rise of 12-14 or so stories, with a front desk security system in place which we thought was important at the time) is sublet for short term internship residence. He had a common kitchen area and two small bedrooms…his roommate was an NYU Law student staying in the city to study for the bar. I believe it was around $1300 a month.

Getting from there up to 66th on the west side would be no big deal. Plus you have the benefit of living in the NYU/G Village/Union Square area. Also, there’s a ton of great shopping down Broadway from Mercer.

Thanks!! I’m trying to confirm everything with housing this week hopefully. Now my only dilemma is that if I request the NYU Law School Dorm will I get it because I don’t want to pay $500 and get a dorm that is further away or has no air condition. Does anyone know if the $500 deposit is refundable. Does anyone know anything about Columbia University dorms also? I was looking into those dorms as well.

My daughter lived at the International House, a private dorm at Columbia, during a summer internship. Here is a link to their website:

[International House - New York - more than graduate student housing](http://www.ihouse-nyc.org/s/707/start.aspx)

66th? CPW? Why not try Fordham Dorms? I am talking about the Midtown ones. Also, there are many Universities in town, try them all, other than NYU, there are Pace, Cooper, LIU, Iona, Columbia… its almost endless.

My daughter (finishing freshman year at NYU) is looking for a sublet for June, July and August. Pretty much any area of Manhattan. She doesn’t have much of a budget - dorms are a little rich for her blood. She will not be around much. Serious about her internship, etc, and will be working part time at least. Doesn’t really party but is a lot of fun. Very responsible for her age and very comfortable in the City.
Does anyone have a lead on a sublet in Manhattan?
Thanks for any info.
