President Marvin Krislov announced that he will leave the campus at the end of June, 2017 without giving a specific reason. The Trustees are currently meeting to create a Presidential Search Committee to succeed him. Meanwhile, as noted above, Prof. Joy Karega, whose Facebook posts up for two years included appalling antisemitic content, and who was on a tenure track, is now on paid leave in this final of her three-year contract, and not teaching Oberlin students. The decision process on her relationship to the college has taken an inordinate amount of time, beyond the stated timeframe for such decisions.
