Niagara Falls

3bm, they’'ll have such fun! And good luck to you with a fun weekend with your grandbaby. I love those!

One thing I’ll mention that happened to someone I know at the POW (this has never happened to us while staying there). They had breakfasts included and the first morning they went down, it was full and they couldn’t get in even though it was included in the price of their room. So, have the kids inquire as to whether they should make a reservation for breakfast. People don’t usually think of doing that for breakfast. It may have just been a fluke that visit that the hotel was full and people from elsewhere happened to decide on going there for breakfast.

Thank you. Very helpful. I will make sure to tell them that. I just gave it to my DIL and she was so excited. I’m sure my son will be too.

I was in both Niagara Falls, NY and Niagara On the Lake at the end of Sept. I had a business conference that was in the Niagara Falls, NY convention center and stayed at the Sheraton that was adjacent. The town is pretty run-down but the actual falls and the park on the NY side were lovely. Had two nice meals in Niagara Falls, NY… one was the culinary center restaurant run by the culinary program at the community college which was across the street from the convention center and another had a local Italian restaurant, a local hot spot located at something like the Super 8 Motel. But… loved NOTL, stayed at the Oban Inn which I would also recommend. We had tickets to Shaw Festival (those do sell out sometimes so I would recommend reserving early if you plan to see a performance) visited a few wineries, had some fine meals-one night at Zee’s and another actually at the lake front restaurant at the golf course across from the Oban Inn which also has a lovely restaurant, toured the historic fort and walked all over the cute town with lovely residential area and shops.

So glad this thread is here…I remembered it from last month and referred to it today. We just booked a couple nights at the Prince of Wales the week before Memorial day. So excited, and NOTL looks SO cute. I would have easily fallen into the “let’s stay right next to the falls” trap. This looks so much nicer.

^^So glad it helped. Isn’t this place great?

Your post also made me realize that the kids are going Memorial Day weekend. I guess I’m really lucky to have gotten them a room then.

Came back to thank you all for the help and let you know it worked: grandbaby number two is on the way. Couldn’t have done it without you :)

Mazel tov!

3bm, woohoo! Yay for another grandbaby and yay for the Canadian connection. :)

We are going to have several nights at Niagra on the Lake, thanks to this thread. Will be heading there I September. :)
