Niche 2021 Rankings Liberal Arts Colleges

Here’s another, should you not have seen it already:

I don’t have a high regard for this company. They also have BS reviews and are far off. They do have some ads for the highest rated schools next to the rankings which tells me something. Also, there are criteria which have nothing to do with education which are ranked. And using your own student body/faculty to rate is egregious, IMO.
My kid attended a private school with a known issue. The head of school had faculty submit 27 reviews in the span of a week. All positive. Yep, the issue was teh head of school and how he treated kids and parents. But you’d have to read the first 28 reviews to get to that.

If that were the case then most of the smaller Catholic universities like Gonzaga and Santa Clara would also be considered liberal arts colleges. But they are not generally categorized as such. Even though a place like Gonzaga, which primarily educates undergraduates, is arguably much more of a Liberal Arts College than West Point, both in terms of course offerings and majors, but also in terms of mission.

Most Liberal Arts colleges self-identify as such. I’m not aware that West Point has ever considered itself a LIberal Arts College much less has shared the traditional objectives of a liberal arts education.

College Raptor recently came out with their 2021 ranking of the top 25 LACs in the US. They have the top 10 as:

  1. Pomona
  2. Williams
  3. Swarthmore
  4. Amherst
  5. Washington and Lee
  6. Harvey Mudd
  7. Claremont McKenna
  8. Wellesley
  9. Bowdoin
  10. Hamilton

@merc81 No, I had not seen this one. And the good news keeps coming  #tusksup!
