yay! what a great feeling.

I just talked to my husband who is at orientation now with our son. At lunch yesterday, he told the story about when my son and I were at Kogod on accepted students day, hanging out in a lounge, and the dean of Kogod stopped to talk to us (twice!) and ended up taking us on a personal tour of the new downstairs with the trading room. Two other parents said they had had similar experiences on accepted students day, one where the student ended up shooting the breeze with the dean of another school. We have a good feeling about American, our son will not be a number there the way he would have been at some of the larger schools he was accepted at.

To the OP, I was wondering if everything worked itself out for your daughter?

Wow cadmiumred, deep breath!

I just caught up with this thread and honestly these are rather minor problems. Last year housing didn’t get all sorted out until shortly before school started. I know you’ll find this utterly unacceptable but your daughter will have somewhere to sleep. I promise. It may be in a triple. She’ll be all right. I promise. I know many, many people that wouldn’t detriple for the world and adore having two roommates. Yes, space is tighter but she will be okay.

You seem like a very assertive parent. I encourage you to be your daughters #1 cheerleader but let her be her #1 advocate the minute she sets foot on campus. AU is a great place. She’ll find her way, make friends and have great classes even if there is a welcome center in the same large building as a couple of her classes

BUMP

For the new posters in the AU Parents thread…a little light reading for when you’ve got the time.
