Just got back from interview! It was alot of fun i hope i made a good impression because this program seems beyond amazing⦠:)

I just got back too! all I can say about the facility is just wow⦠amazing place. the discussion was really good too. star118, which group were you in?

I just got back from my interview too⦠It was so much fun! I just sincerely hope they liked me⦠This is the most amazing program ever!

Curious how other studentsā interviews went this week. My son was in a group where one obnoxious boy completed dominated the conversation and the other four kids barely got a word in and NOT for lack of trying. The moderators did absolutely nothing to redirect the group. My son continually tried to jump in, leaned forward to show interest, and this kid just kept talking right over the others. Very frustrated!!! I understand the moderators want to assess the ability to participate in a discussion but at some point they should have redirected the group so that others were given a chance. Very concerned that this kid ruined the rest of the groupās chances. I do not believe he will get in though either since he was a pain in the butt!

The campus was epic, the people were very nice, and the interview was so much fun. There were two or three students in my group that didnāt talk much, but overall the discussion went smoothly. How many people were in everyone elseās group and how was the involvement? Did anyone else have quiet students in their group?

Hey all, I just had my interview on Friday! I loved it! I was skeptic about the idea of giving up 5 weeks of my summer to this, but now I really want to get in -it seems amazing. All the applicants I met were such nice people and the interview was so fun. There were five other people in my group and we were all girls. It was a great discussion; everyone participated and we actually went over the allotted amount of time⦠we took about an hour. I hope thatās good for us!
Good luck everyone! We hear back on Friday, right?

@xcelr8t I was in a group with some very cool people, 4 girls and two boys we had our interviews at 11. Honestly we were all very involved in the discussion and kind of drifted into different topics. We were pretty comfortable talking to each other which was really good since we were all complete strangers⦠But I think overall my group did excellent even we donāt get in it was a great experience.

@star118, was EVERYONE in your group involved? Because in my group there were a few really quiet students⦠What role would you say you played in the discussion?

i think everyone was equally involved, people were more concerned in making their point then actually running the discussion. There was really no quiet people in my group, i knew that it would be kind of awkward talking to strangers so i introduced myself as soon as i got in the room, that smoothed things up. There was one kid in my group who has to get in because he was like the leader, he wasnāt annoying but rather let his voice be heard. I really spoke alot as well and donāt only thing i didnāt like was that it was only 45 minutes, my entire group really wanted to keep on going so we kept talking for a while in the lobby afterwardsā¦

in my group everyone was practically involved but we did have a few quiet students⦠there were six of us in the group. the interview started out a bit awkward but we soon calmed and had very analytical discussions. overall, it was a great experience! there were a few silent moments though but was fixed by a question or two thrown in by the judges. do you think that will hinder our chances of getting in?
iām so nervous to get the letters i canāt believe it only takes them a week to get back to us!

when the kids in my group and i were in the lobby after our interviews we were pretty nervous because we saw the judges basically grading us and deciding whether we were in or not. Everyone said they just wished they would tell us right there instead of making us nervous recks for a whole weekā¦

@Star118 I agree with you completely! Iām gonna be such a wreck this week⦠Iām gonna be definitely checking my mailbox 100 times on friday and saturday haha

@ava53194, star118

Likewise, I just want to know already, this is on my mind way more than it should be! Do you guys think you got in?

@star118, what do you mean when you say he was like the āleaderā ⦠like a bossy leader/ someone who facilitated? Howād you guys think you did and when do the decisions come out?

I wanted to ask the same question, also if anybody knows: is there a set number of males/females that they accept?

He wasnāt a bossy leader, instead he sort of facilitated the conversion and took genuine interest in what we were saying. Not that the rest of us didnāt but rather he was kind of on point. I hope we hear back before Friday because these nerves are definitely going
to Kill me.

*conversation.

there tends to be either 19 males/ 20 females or vice versa

Thanks, but out of the 170 accepted for the interview, was there a set number of males/females?

There probably was because I saw equal amounts of both during the tours and stuff.
