NJ Scholars 2011

blaaaah i feel so stupid now… maybe i did hear 170… i don’t know, im going a little delusional since i’ve been so nervous lately! but yes, i also wish you all the best of luck  even if i make it in, the interview was still a great experience!

*if i don’t make it in

I ended up just sending a quick thank you note- I knew it wouldn’t increase my chances or anything since they have already made the decisions, I just felt like I should.
Ava, I agree with you- the interview was awesome! And even if I’m not accepted I’ll still appreciate such an opportunity!
Can’t wait to hear back! Good luck everyone!

Hey guys! I’ve never posted, but I’ve been following this thread for the whole process and thanks so much for all the advice!

I just got my acceptance letter and am soooooo excited!!!
Anyone else?

ACCEPTED!!!
I AM SO EXCITED!!! I was honestly shocked when I read the letter I couldn’t believe I got in! I’ve spent an entire week telling myself how selective the program is so as not to get my hopes up but I’m so happy right now! :)

congrats. We are not able to get our mails, so D1 was notified via email when the decision was made, and she will be going.

Congrats guys! I was rejected, oh well. Have fun everyone!

I’m with you paradisexlost… I was rejected as well. But congratulations to those who are accepted!!

rejected… kinda mad actually cause i thought i did well and they laughed at my jokes a lot, except this one girl who dominated the convo probably did better lol

seriously though, congrats to those accepted! you guys deserved it. make the most of it!

and does anyone know how the waitlist works? cause my interviewer said something about it, but idk.

I got in  I am extremely excited and can’t wait! I really didn’t think i would make it considering how smart some of you guys are. Congratulations to everyone who made it and for those of you that didn’t make it , life continues and i wish you all luck on your future endeavors.

i got on the waiting list :frowning: kind of wish i was either accepted or rejected… does anyone know when i’ll know for sure whats going on? will they send me another letter?

Congrats to all of you who got in. My child was rejected unfortunately. Feeling frustrated that he was stuck in a group where one kid dominated the conversation. Feeling like it all rides on how cooperative a group you are put in and whether you get a chance to say anything. I believe the board needs to come up with a more objective measure than these group interviews. All finalists are smart and superstars in their own ways…no matter how hard he tried, one kid talked over everyone and no one else got to say much…this is where the moderators need to actually moderate…if he interrupted he would have been deemed rude…we are fine with the fact that he didn’t get in because of previous plans but seriously, the board needs to examine the process…

I was accepted! Also very surprised, but delighted. Thanks to all for the information. Looking forward to this summer.

I recently got my acceptance letter too! Hope to have an awesome time this summer :)

Hey guys! I made a facebook group so that we can all get to know each other a little bit before the program starts. Search for “NJ Scholars 2011” and request to join! Also, if you know of any other people that were accepted into the program but aren’t a part of the college confidential threads, tell them about the group.

trrriiiiipppppyyyyyyy

Hey everyone! I’m a 2015 NJSP semifinalist, and I’m right where you guys and girls were 4 years ago. My interview for the NJ Scholars Program is in a couple of days. Needless to say, I’m very very nervous. How should I treat the interview? Do you guys remember what questions were you asked? What should I wear?

I very badly want to get into this program because I know it highly correlates with a presitigious college. A middle class junior like me does not get such a huge opportunity a lot, so I want to know everything there is that can give me an edge and get me one step closer to my goals!
