NMS cutoff predictions for class of 2018

Thanks @punky99. I do know for sure because his name was in “the book.”

@planner03 … I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you, that the post arrives for you today, too. I know the frustration!

@TexanIndian, in my previous googling I’ve only been able to find state lists posted online but never the entire country in one place. NMSC itself doesn’t post any NMSF names that I could find (I’ve scoured their press release page). I can’t find the full current Texas list yet, but I’ve found some Texas schools posting their students so hopefully some news outlet in Texas will have it out today.

In years past I’ve never seen a complete list posted, only state lists.

Here is the link to the NY NMSF list

and California

Hi folks,

If any one sees a link for Texas please post. Our school works on snail pace, and nothing so far and hoping to at-least see it from the press release.

I’ve been trying to figure out exactly what it takes to get the NMF $2500 scholarship and found that the MNSC does publish a list of those:

going through the list I saw one student was awarded

This was a new one on me! The only thing I can think of is that the kid is going to a service academy or some place like Texas Tech that is already a full ride. Any other thoughts?

@3scoutsmom, the honorary designation could also be for a student going to a college outside the US, or non-college plans such as enlisting in the military right after high school.

I agree, probably a service academy, or they are choosing not to attend college at this time. I am hoping my son finally gets the letter today at school. I did see his name in the published list for New York at least.

Here’s Pennsylvania’s list:

@StillLotsToLearn, Make sure you are scrolling to the right (if you are in a Zoom-in mode on scibd). Or checkout the following link in full screen - I do see Cathedral Catholic to St. Augustine in the 4th column on the same page before you hit Torrey Pines on the next page.

Does anyone have the names of students at Westlake High School in Ohio?

Wow. This year’s higher cutoff was brutal to our district. We usually have 5-6 NMSFs split between 4 schools. Most of them come from two schools, and S’s HS has never had one before.

This year S is the only one in the whole district. @-)

Has anyone seen any TX school press releases? I even been to a few schools web pages and still no mention.

@3scoutsmom, a few school ones (like an East Texas one) but just with the specific school lists and none that include the full Texas list.

@3scoutsmom, I wonder if Art is considered part of “news media” as Nationalmerit.org states that the list was released to the so-called “news media”. Someone should have the full pdf file (or state by state breakdown), you would think?

@Traveler98 I just saw the East TX article only 4 kids across three high school and a homeschooler. I’m really curious about the big local to me schools. I full Texas list would be really long!

@3scoutsmom, California is usually the longest (about 2000 kids) and that only took 9 pages. Texas should be around 1300 kids (if past ratios hold true), or about 6 pages.
