<p>Thanks for all your replies. As for naming him on our credit card and making him an authorized user, I was told by the cc company that it would not count toward his credit history. </p>
<p>We went ahead and got him the B of A student checking account. At the same time, the CSR also requested the credit card in his name. It was approved before we finished all the transactions!
