No March Madness thread?

Duke has 3 NBA lottery picks and likely a total of 4 1st round NBA picks and almost lost the two previous games to UCF and VaTech. That’s gotta hurt. Ouch.

Looking forward to the last 3 games of the college season. Go whoever. Don’t care. I just want to see some good b-ball.

So many exciting games! I’ve been loving it!

Around here we refer to U Oregon as “the Quacks.”

Both my teams are out; Washington and Gonzaga. As for my nemesis Duke, even though it seems they get numerous breaks from the refs, I have newfound respect for Zion. I thought his bulky size might hamper him against high caliber opponents. Nope, that kid is faster than you might think, and very supple around the basket. Plus, the joker hit two three-pointers in crunch time.

@Sue22 Just wait for football season! And send her with a case of cheap tp. The town literally runs out.

When we took the tour last week the guide mentioned “rolling the trees”. I had no idea what what meant until I went on the school’s live cam this morning. The trees were festooned with roll after roll of TP!
Wish I’d found the live cam earlier. It would have been fun to watch the celebration.

I don’t really follow all this, but I grew up in East Lansing, both parents were affiliated with MSU, learned to swim in their IM pool and ice skate on their rink, took violin lessons on campus, attended two summer music sessions on campus during high school, had my first job punching Fortran cards in their computer center, got ice cream at the dairy in their cow barns, and can sing both the fight song and the alma mater. So yay!

Best basketball weekend. Great games except for Michigan. Still don’t understand what happened but glad Texas Tech went to the final four since they beat Michigan. Now I have to root for Michigan State. Big Ten fan here.

Only great thing is when this is over the Chicago Bulls have a great shot at either.,Zion, Barret or Ja. I would take any of them in a heart beat ??.

I did the bracket thing at work…I’m dead last out of everyone

nope

I’m winning my bracket somehow. Last time I won, I chose teams from cities or states I had visited. I’m not disclosing this years madness. Needless to say my coworkers who study up on this stuff expect doughnuts when I win (again)

!!!

That Auburn v. UVA game!!!

Crazy game. Hope UVA can win on Monday!

Double dribble. :frowning:

Terrible no call on an obvious middle of the court double dribble. And then make a 50 50 call on an unimpeded shot that missed. The “big” foul was on the landing. So many other plays and non calls had way more contact.

What a lousy way to lose a game. Three foul shots with no time left.

Sorry I have to root for the winner of the second game now.

I had no issue with the foul call. Guy was clutch with 3 straight FT’s and being frozen out on the 3rd.

Bruce Pearl is a class act. His post game interview was total professionalism.

I’d be OK with TT winning since they beat UMich. ?

Seriously I was yelling at the TV right when he double dribbled. How did the refs miss that?

I am very disappointed with the behaviour of the TTU fans over night. There is no reason to destroy other people’s property just because you are happy your team won.

This kind of thing happens after big wins. Not only college kids behave like this, but seasoned adults. I have never understood it. You are happy, you drink too much, and then think “I really want to turn a car upside down and burn it!” WHY???

WRECK’EM TECH! Embarrassed by the deplorable behavior of those involved.

You should see what Kentucky fans do… Tech got completely screwed by the non-call on the double dribble. Agree with sushi on the foul call- definitely a foul but not one that is usually called, especially in that game where very little was called throughout the game. My husband is a TT grad, so he’s happy, even though Vanderbilt is really now our team. I’m winning one pool, 5th in another. (Gonzaga was going to win…)

Any team that can hold UMich to 44 points and Michigan St. to 51 points, make them both look bad, will be very difficult to beat. If I was a wagering type person, then I’d put my money on TT.

And don’t forget today’s women’s championship game between ND and Baylor. Both #1 seeds. ND going for back-to-back championships. Go Irish!
