No NH debate thread?

I think Obama mis-spoke," I recently introduced S.J. Res. 23"

I just googled SJ Res 23, here’s the result:
SJ 23 ES
107th CONGRESS
1st Session
S. J. RES. 23

It was passed in 2001…how is it possible, since he was not in the Senate during 2001

Found the result on allabout.com

[S</a>. J. Res. 23: A joint resolution clarifying that the use of force against Iran is not authorized by… (GovTrack.us)](A joint resolution clarifying that the use of force against Iran is not authorized by the Authorization for the Use of Military Force Against Iraq, any resolution previously adopted, or any other provision of law. (2007; 110th Congress S.J.Res. 23) - GovTrack.us)

It was introduced in 2007

I don’t know why it has the same # as something in 2001

Ek thanks for clarification, however introduction and having it passed to become a bill are two different things. Here is what your link stated:

This bill is in the first step in the legislative process. Introduced bills go first to committees that deliberate, investigate, and revise them before they go to general debate. The majority of bills never make it out of committee. Keep in mind that sometimes the text of one bill is incorporated into another bill, and in those cases the original bill, as it would appear here, would seem to be abandoned. [Last Updated: Dec 10, 2007].

The link is stating his bill never came out of committee, in other words he never got the support needed. I want someone who has the support of MOC’s

I believe it is " in committee"
[GovTrack: Committees: Senate Committee on Foreign Relations](Senate Committee on Foreign Relations - GovTrack.us)

I can see your point- what is moc?

Members of Congress = MOC

Actually it was read twice and sent back to committee in Nov.

According to your site, here is the result:
This bill is identical to H. J. Res. 64 (Status: Introduced)

Obama had no co-sponsors, thus, no dem or rep wanted to be on the bill…leaves me with the question, why not?

I dunno- I don’t read bills they make my head hurt :frowning:
this is just a distraction from worrying about the end of Ds first semester.
