Nomination ranking BS

My understanding is only for USNA but in our district and how we were told, the MOC have various choices in how they nominate. They can nominate up to 10 for each appointment slot and they typically put them in order of rank. But, they can send the 10 names and have USNA pick based on their criteria, or they can have a principal nominee where they decide (if triple Q’d) who gets the appointment, or they can just send in 10 names.

That has always been my understanding as well. </p>

Each MOC can have (I think) up to 5 people at a service academy at any time.

As in, “5 people at EACH Service Academy”, IIRC.</p>

The first two got in and she didn’t (but then got NAPS) and then got the top nomination spot the following year.

In my case, my MOC did the rankings, giving a primary and then alternates in order. I was Third Alternate my first time through, then got Primary while at NAPS.</p>

Remember that your congressmen are representing you in your district and asking questions only makes you seem more serious about the process. Good luck this year.
