Is there any reason your D is interested only in non-audition programs? My daughter applied as a transfer student this year after finishing 2 years; 1 semester at BoCo and 3 semesters at our cc. It was interesting because of the 2 Ca. schools she applied to, she was accepted through an audition to UCLA as a junior, but rejected at a non-audition program, UCI. UCLA is definitely the more competitive program to get into so we were sort of surprised. We think that because UCI goes only by transcripts, there were probably a lot of other students applying who had similar stats (3.9GPA), so there was a lot of competition academically, and nothing that made her stand out enough; plus I don’t think they took many transfers. UCLA goes more by the audition and she was accepted. Just saying, don’t assume the non-audition programs are easier to get into. Look at a variety of programs to give her some good options. Good luck!
