North vs. South

North- cuz you can understand what people are saying

I like both. I was born in North Carolina (and my parent’s pretty much raised me like a southerner), but I absolutely love northern cities. I’ll hopefully be headed to Boston for college next year. But I still like the south for the most part (except Arkansas).

^^Hahahaha! We have the weirdest accents up north. In South Jersey, people say “wooder” instead of “water” or “beggle” instead of “bagel” (the voice on the AP Central answering service has a heavy South Jersey accent). On top of that, people speak very fast. But I can still understand a northern person talking, whether they have a Bahston accent or a New Joisey accent or a New Yawker accent.

Your welcome Corinna!

^^I bet you need our credit card number, social security number, cell phone, email, and address so that you can steal our money, give us viruses, and sell our information to junk mail companies?

lol the South.

NavyBlueNinja, the worst accent is the Long Islander accent. It’s a perversion of the New Yawker accent to a disgusting extreme.

Here[/url”>http://www.long-island-portal.com/taw-kin’_lawn-guy-land.htm]Here is an explanation for anyone happily unacquainted with it.

And to add to the disgusting accents, we have people that do this[/url”>http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Btflx2vPe64&feature=related]this sort of thing.

Yeah. Be horrified.

for the record, i’m from long island and sound nothing like that  but there are definitely people like that

^I also reside on Long Island and sound nothing like that. However, I have run into people who speak near-unintelligible English mangled by that dreadful accent. :)

It’s coffee, not cawfee, dammit!

shudders Oh, memories.

Well it all depends on YOU. Are you looking for an excellent education from a college that is pretty much 100% academics? Or are you looking for a great education and an excellent campus life? I know the North has Penn State and Ohio State, but there is nothing like a fall day and SEC football nothing at ALL.

I’m 100 % North all the way, but think about the areas OUTSIDE the GBA and NYC area. Like jeez, seriously dudes. The more to this place than just cities with annoying accents. There’s even- more states in NE like MAINE or legasp Delaware!

Idk abt u guys but I personally [and many of my…peers] think of like… Ohio as ‘south’ but not really like Mid west/south.

I always completely forget about New Hampshire. I don’t think anyone even lives there

^^I’m still kind of confused, actually. Are people in this thread only considering the Northeast when they say “North” and not the Midwest? I’m from the Midwest, and I always thought both places were collectively referred to as the North.

^I’m considering everything above the mason dixon line + Maryland as the North…lol.

^^^I know PLENTY of ppl from NH.

^^I was considering everything “above” the equator as the North. No one seemed to agree, so I gave up.

I know what you mean about the NH thing, though, futurexecutive. I’m the same way with Idaho. Lol. Seriously, you never hear anything about Idaho.

I always forget about Vermont too lol.

^ Vermont is more notable than NH. There are ppl [ie- hippies, hermits, college students, and hicks] there! AND FOOD!!!   [ie- syrup, ice cream, cotton candy, other maple and organic goods] ;)

Its not like W. VA or …Wyoming or N. Dakota [or rather s. dakota]

The state of Wyoming makes it’s way into my thoughts almost daily
