Northeastern Fall 2013 Transfer Page

So it has been quite some time waiting to hear from them. I had all my documents in by the 17th. Still no word from them. I don’t think I will be considering NEU anymore. Considering how long they’ve taken to get back to me. Good luck to anyone who is aspiring to go to NEU. If I do hear from them and get in I will probably reject the offer to help open a spot up for someone else. I will still probably be in the Boston area either at BU, Bentley, or Babson. Good luck.

Is anybody still waiting on Fin Aid? I sent all documents but some still say “Not Reviewed”

Mikeluis, Bus2012DVC and I are both on the Northeastern Transfer 2016 facebook page and could connect there. Here’s the link: https://www.facebook.com/groups/346307735491596/</a>

k3v1n012, I’m assuming the 17th of April? It’s barely been a month. It took 6 weeks to receive a response myself, and many others waited 2+ months. I would not choose to discount them just because you think it’s taking too long though if you have other reasons to not attend there then so be it. Good luck to whichever school you choose to attend.

Bus2012DVC, what is your fiance’s decision about the CPS?
I am admitted to another top 100 uni, but the name of “Northeatern” is just better…
BS in management is similar to my intended Business Admin management major

Dargor,
She is definitely leaning towards attending. The process for application etc seems pretty convoluted. I think Cps would be good if you wanted to transfer to a normal northeastern college, bouvee, McKim, etc. But I believe the majority of classes are nights and afternoons so it might not have the campus atmosphere you are looking for. You should call and get more info

My reasons for discounting NEU are because BU and Bentley have already accepted me and I was technically already suppose to submit my housing deposit but I deferred it until the end of the month. So I have until may 24th for BU and 29th for Bentley

hi cposie, I was wondering what happened to your transfer app because I’m an international student as well. I got the same thing on my application status, the “F1 transfer form” as a required document. I’m not in the states right now since it’s the summer holidays so I’m quite confused on what to do. Can anyone give me some advice?

I was denied today but I was offered a spot in the CPS which I will not be accepting. I wish everyone else still waiting lots of luck!

Still eagerly waiting!! My boyfriend was accepted yesterday!

Sorry to hear that alaroc. Where will you be attending?

i was actually denied to NEU. Not really a big deal. I know i could have gotten in considering I was accepted to schools that I would consider to rank higher. I think I was denied based on the time of my application.

“Transfer applications are reviewed on rolling basis. At this time we have reached capacity for the fall 2013 semester, due to the number of applicants offered admission who have accepted our offer. The next available opportunity to apply for transfer admission is fall 2014.”

If anyone has yet to receive a decision I suggest that you keep your other options open as it seems that they may not longer be accepting people. Since the capacity is full. Just so you know. I had my stuff in by April 17th. So if you got in after that then Good Luck with that but I would advice to look at other schools. Good luck to all.

I will be attending UMass Amherst. I was also accepted to BU but unfortunately their financial aid package was not even close to being acceptable.

Good luck to everyone attending Northeastern, or to those who are still waiting.

Wow… I am still awaiting my reply from NU! I also rejected BU’s offer because their financial aid package was horrid. It would be great to know whether their transfer acceptance rate is still as high as it was a year ago!

so i got in on the 24th of may and i am wondering when I will receive any scholarship/financial aid stuff?

Just got accepted into the College of Engineering! I’m so excited to move to the big city and get my study on. My details of admission are in the transfer results thread to help others on their way to higher education…

I did have to call admissions and request the status of my application, which led them to admit me later in the afternoon. CALL THEM if you are still waiting for a result!

I called too, and got my acceptance within the week! So excited for the fall!

Congrats Jen! That phone call was awesome wasn’t it :)

Hi everyone! I just got my acceptance a few days ago!! Waiting for the aid package to come in  I’m Ally, I live in Syracuse, NY and would be transferring from St. John Fisher College in Rochester, NY. I am soo excited and hope to be coming in the Fall! Does any person who has already committed to going to NU as a fall transfer have any insight on transfer merit scholarships?

Hi Ally, I committed to Northeastern as a transfer and my merit scholarship was listed on the “Application Status Check” website underneath the “Decision Letter” link as “Scholarship Award.” My award is called the “Academic Achievement Award,” and it is for $7,500 per semester as long as my GPA stays above a certain average. I’m pretty sure that they don’t give full tuition or even half tuition merit scholarships to transfer students. You should try Googling “Northeastern University Transfer Scholarships” and look at the page that it brings you too – I viewed that prior to being accepted.
Since Northeastern is so expensive and my commitment was based on the amount of financial aid that the school gave to me, I was actually really pleased with the amount of additional grants that I received through financial aid (not my merit
scholarship), too. However, my Financial Aid Award wasn’t listed until about a month after I heard back from Northeastern (I originally heard back that I was accepted at the end of April, but I didn’t get my full financial aid package until late May). They are pretty generous with their grants compared to the other schools that I was accepted to…especially considering that most schools don’t offer transfer students a lot of money.
I guess that there are also a ton of scholarships that you can apply for to help you offset the cost of attending there, too.

Denominator… I’m electrical and computer engineering, what about you?

bcrafton… We’ll probably see eachother around campus… I’m a Mechanical Engineering major with an undecided minor. Maaaaaan finding a place to live in Boston from across the country is hard!
