Northeastern Honors CBA vs. Penn State Smeal

Hi Im a business major at NU and I would recommend it a lot. The business program is ranked 22nd for academics (in business week). However what really sets it apart is obviously the coop program. Like you said it does jumpstart your career and I love the fact that I can coop with amazing firms (large, medium, and small) and really apply what I’m learning the theory behind in order to understand it better.

Also, like you said NU’s status is rising fast and our academics are improving as well. Our new operating budget for next year is 73% academics up from 60% the year before. I myself have not had any professors that have made it difficult to do well due to accents, etc. I have had some professors with accents but never to the point that I had difficulty understanding them.

Like you said the classes for business are small @ NU as well. I’m a sophomore and all my classes have been 30-40 or less. I had my intro to financial management course with 13 people.

I’m also in the University Honors Program (honors.neu.edu). It offers special housing, smaller class sizes, special programs and events, special advising, etc.
I think you should also keep in mind although rankings do give insight into quality, etc. they do not get everything. I would recommend visiting campus to check it out.

if you have any other questions let me know
