Northeastern University 2019 EA

@ProudDad13 - Congratulations! Where did you see the notification about Honors Program?

Can someone explain what Honors program is and if its a good thing being accepted in it?

@yesssir1 it’s :
The University Honors Program is designed for talented students who crave a deeper, more rigorous learning experience
through:
 access to unique honors courses with smaller student-to-faculty ratios
 a dedicated residence hall and Living Learning Community featuring co-curricular and extracurricular
programming, including events hosted by faculty-in-residence
 personalized advising opportunities with professional and academic advisors, as well as peer, faculty, and alumni
mentors
 dedicated resources for faculty-mentored and individual research pursuits through Honors Research Awards and
Honors Interdisciplinary Thesis projects, with up to $1,000 offered in support
 distinctive global opportunities through Dialogues of Civilization, Alternative Spring Break service trips, and honors
coursework that includes international travel.

@Micc what’s Dean’s scholarship?

yeah lol

For those posting scholarship awards, please specify if 4-year total or year only. Thanks!

Decision: ACCEPTED! (with Dean Scholarship)
SAT/ACT: 1500 (730 RW/770 Math)
GPA: 3.67 UW, 3.82 W (Yes, I am aware that my GPA is on the bit lower side, but I come from a competitive high school and took 10 AP classes throughout high school, which has contributed to it)
State/Country: NY, USA
Major: Business Administration and Communication Studies
Side Note: Stats are only a part of the process! I believe that my essay and extracurriculars contributed greatly to my decision. Just basing your decision off of your stats doesn’t reassure you anything! College admissions is highly unpredictable. Keep your head up, and never give up! I hope I can serve as a bit of faith and reassurance to everyone else out there :slight_smile:
