According to the NE website, it says ‘early action’ decisions come out by Feb. 1. This is most likely b/c they now have EDII.
@11VolleySM Just looked at the NU website. That’s a big change from the past and probably why ED decisions did not come out last week.
just out of curiosity how many of you submitted AP scores. I was never aware that submitting my AP scores would be helpful I got all 4’s and 5’s. I just do not want the admissions counselors to think I did not send my scores because they were bad. I did not send them because I never thought about it.
I didn’t submit them through College Board but I self reported all of them on my Common App. Will they see those?
@zzi123 If you reported them on the Common App they will be seen.
Is it unlikely decisions will come out today given it’s a Sunday?
I did not report my AP scores.
I bet the decisions come out tomorrow night (I doubt on a Sunday). But that 's just a guess. Def. this week though.
The predicted date for the ED I release (December 15) is also on a Sunday so do not completely rule out tonight being the release date. I might just be too hopeful but we will see. Good luck to all!
not out today
@charlesc123 It is very common that the even dates they use for the “By X” dates are not weekdays, but they have always released during a weekday for the pasty decade or more and have only released on Tuesday-Thursday the past 5 years. I would safely rule out Saturday/Sunday.
What about today?
I think it’s going to be tomorrow night given Tues. - Thurs… comment above but just a guess.
not out
I am really sad. hopefully it can come out tomorrow!
are there a lot of ppl applying ed this year… why is the result out so late
yes.
Ya the the 17.4k viewed this chat is looking like an L to me
Gotta stay pessimistic though!!!
I mean, last year the acceptance rate for ED was 41%. How much lower could it get this year? Down to the mid-to-low 30’s? Even so, not terrible odds… Let’s all try and be hopeful; ED I gives us a big advantage
The date fluctuates year to year and isn’t likely correlated with the size of the application pool inherently, as those tend to grow every year for Northeastern over the past decade. I wouldn’t read into that, this isn’t really particularly late.
As to the acceptance rate for ED, it actually went up to 41% last year from 30ish. I think in the case of ED acceptance rate doesn’t actually tell you a ton as you don’t know the quality of the ED pools year to year. If one year has 50% more applicants but they are high stat applicants, the acceptance rate could rise even though the bar to get in didn’t change (or even rose). Really all you can do is hope for the best and distract yourself until decisions.
Good luck as always!
