Northeastern accepted 33 students from our high school this year, and so far 16 have enrolled. That is much higher than usual (typically 15-20 get accepted and 6-8 enroll). It is my hunch that Northeastern is deeply worried about their international enrollment this year so they accepted a large number of students that had a strong likelihood of enrolling and attending.
(This is also the case at NYU, which accepted triple the number of students from our high school than usual. 10 have enrolled.)
I don’t think that Northeastern, or any university in Boston, will have much room on the waitlist this year.
