Northeastern vs. UIUC (Finance)

The Investment Banking and Management Consulting results seem to coincide better with the US News undergrad business program ranking:

UIUC Gies 17 vs. Northeastern D’Amore-McKim 47

The UIUC Gies program is amazing. And the Gies Career Services office is fantastic. Many companies across all business industries recruit there (both for internships and full-time). UIUC is a big University, but the Gies school is actually small and has ~ 700ish students per grade (roughly the number I recall). So many clubs/activities to join with a great social scene.

so true, and i do dislike those rankings. i hope that Northeastern is doing more than just that. I think they are based upon what we see on a local level.

Super interesting. Best data I have seen on the subject.

US News - not interesting to me
IB from @CFP - very interesting to me

It’s kind of sickening how posters continually trot out that 10-year old article. By “gaming the system” they played the game .

NU is doing great, so kudos to them.

Back to the topic, my husband is a proud alum of Illinois as an OOS student. He received a great education, made lifelong friends and we enjoy going back for homecoming.

There are several schools, like NE, that have pulled up their “ranking” (for lack of a better word) in the past decade or so. Back when one of my s’s was applying, GT was his safe school. But back to topic, sure sounds like UIUC is your preference. Enjoy!
