Northwestern HPME Part 1

norcalguy,

[Chicago Neighborhoods Map: WildOnions.org Interactive Map of Chicago Neighborhoods](http://www.wildonions.org/NeighborhoodsMap.htm) shows the location of different neighborhoods. you can click on them to get basic stats.

[Chicago Real Estate : Neighborhoods](http://www.chicagohome.com/neighborhoodMasterList.cfm) gives description of different neighborhoods. my favorites are lakeview and lincoln park. :)

how would you “type” as it says on the HPME application form?
are we allowed to scan it onto the computer and type the information and print it out?

you can’t type on the form lol
I think it means the essays. or a type writer (?)
I just hand wrote in the information, I really dont’ think it makes much of a diff unless you just have really bad hand writing

merry xmas. when do interview notifications go out.

i come from a really small town where there are no research opportunities. how would hpme know this?

my essays at a page and a half. whats the length of ur essays?
ps, i kno max is 2

does the medical school have access to all our undergrad information?

interview notifications should be going out very soon.

regarding the small town with little research opportunities: perhaps you can integrate this into one of your essays. Other than that, I think the HPME admissions people will be able to tell that your hometown is not close to major universities/research centers. It would be a good idea to mention this in your essays though.

regarding the medical school having access to your undergrad app: i don’t think you want to leave out any information on the medical school app that you put on the NU app. the med school can probably access your undergrad app, but you don’t want to make them go through the extra effort to access your info.

question. did we have to send off the common app for NW first and THEN the HPME card? i sent my card off in november, but havent yet submitted the common app/supplement. and since i havent received the HPME application yet…i probably messed up, right?

u probably didnt qualify to receive the hpme app.

***? i had 33 ACT, 800 Math II, 710 CHem…isnt that enough to get an APP at least?

dunno. i spent the card before anything since i havent even sent the common and supplement yet. i got the app a few weeks after.

I would just call the office, if possible and ask if you are really not “qualified” or something

but I think you shuld be

wow im ****ed…i called but no one is in office…

maybe they are brits and it’s boxing day! try tomorrow? ;)

haha ok if you say so. but even if i get it…the deadline is jan 1?

they’re probably on vacation and wont get back until after jan 1

that’s strange. maybe you can find someone to e-mail you a copy of the application so you can still fill it out?

you think thatd be acceptable to do?

@hoopaholic: my stats were lower than yours. i think the HPME committee might be a little slow? I turned the app for HPME in on halloween, got it thanksgiving break.
