What you tried to focus on in your application - any hooks you tried to make for yourself: I focused on my rich experience teaching as a volunteer during war times in Africa, and also helping some underprivileged Chinese students realize their dreams by fundraising a lot of money and giving it to them. I also focused on my work experience being a renown SSAT instructor in my area.
Weaknesses:
Why you think you were accepted/deferred/rejected: For reasons above.
Where else were you accepted/deferred/rejected: All other schools because my application reflects mainly about my passion about becoming a great educator in the commercial education area.
Does everyone else have decisions at this point? I have received no correspondence from NU since confirmation that my application is complete. Should I have?

How did everyone receive their decisions? Were they emailed and you had to log in through a portal? I already made a portal account before and I went on it and there is nothing.

@somehmonggirl I saw your post in the beginning about grants not being available to transfer students in their first year. Is this true? Does this mean that an admitted transfer student with $20k/yr income would not receive any northwestern grant aid, and would have to pay the full $50k tuition minus loans etc. for the first year? This does not make any sense, can any of you guys give me your inputs and verify whether or not this is true. I cannot find anything about transfers not receiving university grants anywhere on NU’s website except for the FAQ section.
@genieforuboi not true. I was accepted about a month ago and had generous FA with grant
@inordie I’m a chem major though, and when I compare the two they come up pretty even. I’ve been pretty set on Vandy for a while, but NU is 30 min from where I live so I’m torn!
