Northwestern University Class of 2024 Early Decision discussion forum

Nvm they just changed it. IT IS FRIDAY!

Any reason why they changed it?
I’m bummed out now… the wait is killing me!

I don’t really know I talked to my counselor again today because their Instagram was sending weird signals. She said that they moved the date and that it is rare but it happens. Sorry!

Is there anyway to confirm that it is for sure this Friday? I was told by a friend of mine, who I think talked to an admissions person yesterday, who said that it was going to be released Thursday. They have released it on a Thursday 2 years in a row, and I feel like that could be a pattern. I really do not know.

The admissions team posted something on Instagram around an hour ago saying to stay tuned on the admission instagram for the ed release date… they then said again that Northwestern decision can be seen later this week.

They posted on IG 15 minutes ago that it would be Friday.

Prolly gonna get rejected but still excited !
Any advice on whether I should keep hope or not ?

@Kate1102
Interviews are very tricky though. Last year a dartmouth alumni told me the same thing but ended up getting rejected though.

We have a family friend whose husband is a Penn alum who used to do college alum interviews. He said he met around 30 kids and thought almost all of them were great fits for Penn and told them they were great fits for the school. (I thought he only gave negative comments on 2 of the 30 or so) Not one kid he interviewed got into Penn - he was actually depressed about it and ended up quitting giving alum interviews.

I used to do alum interviews for my alma mater and it’s very, very disheartening when kids who so desperately want to attend are rejected. You really do take it personally.

My husband did interviews for his alma mater. It is not fun as so many have been rejected. He is taking a break , but will probably not resume interviewing. He does not believe he makes a difference and it is for lip service

Anyone know when financial aid decisions come out?

I may start a new thread on this, but does Northwestern typically have Accepted Students day on the same day in April each year - i.e., the 2nd Friday or 3rd Monday of the month? My daughter got in via ED, but I think she still wants to attend - maybe to scope out the different dorm room choices in person instead of online.

Also, did Northwestern publish their ED stats yet - number applied, number accepted, etc?
