Northwestern University Early Decision thread 2010

haha i go to a weird liberal arts private school. I don’t have school every day. I just wake up, do 8 or 9 hours of homework then wonder why I am alive, then go to bed. hahahahaha

I applied ED to SESP but got an e-mail today saying that my app was incomplete because they didn’t have my ED agreement but my parents and I signed it so I’m guessing my counselor forgot to send it. Even if I send it in, do you think sending it so late will put me at a disadvantage becuase they will be reading my app later than everyone else?

^Not really. The ordering shouldn’t matter, at least in theory. This isn’t rolling admission.

I am screwed. I applied ED. I scheduled an overnight visit at NU for tonight. But canceled it because I had a big AP chem exam today… But today after cheerleading I got a phone call from the Northwestern overnight office asking where I was!!! Even though I had officially canceled it. I am SCREWED. My chances are now zero because I apparently am not responsible and didn’t show up to my visit…god love my life. northwestern is only my dream school… and now im not getting in.

I don’t think it matters. They’re not gonna be like well, everything looks great but that ****er didn’t show up for his overnight god damn it! DENIED!

No… really… I called the office to apologize and explain why there was some confusion and some errors… but the lady said: This is unfortunate because the office of admissions will definitely take note of this. Coming to the overnight would have really upped your chances at ED.

yep. screwed.

nah, don’t believe that. it’s prob just some secretary talking. and it’s not like you didn’t show up without canceling. sure, attending would’ve given your app a little boost but you are probably not hurt if you don’t. the ED agreement is commitment enough.

some of the secretaries can be real jerks. I had to call brown a while ago (like two months) and the lady picked up the phone and without me saying a word was being a total *****. Secretaries have a knack for that.

@gs34410 same here. My counselor forgot to send in my ED agreement. I don’t think it’s too big of a deal. Just get it done asap.

@ jkaufman. I read your post and just cracked up. “that goddamn overnight vist!” lol hilarious

Yo YO yo does anyone know if NU needs us to mail our quarter 1/first marking period grades…?

On the website it says required for RD applicants. So, no. Bu they might want a midyear report if we get accepted to check that we’re not slacking

Okay…I got an e-mail from Emerson asking for them and I wasn’t sure about NU. thankz

WOW! My counselor forgot mine too… really? It’s their job… they are COUNSELORS!!! and HOW many common apps have you had to sign before?? Really? It would be nice if they could not forget things.

And yea I guess about the overnight thing… I am just still worried about it.

Also, is it possible for your admission to get repealed after sending in a not-so-great midterm/end of the year report?? How bad of grades would it take… haha… I’m not planning on slacking… I am just very curious…

ALSO ALSO. Does anyone know about NU’s cheerleading squad? If I get in I am for sure trying out… how competitive are the tryouts? I have cheered for 8 years of my life, and am a decent tumbler (but by no means like a level 10 gymnast!), and a decent flyer… would it be worth even trying out? If I make it… My life will then be complete   :)

sorry this is long i am just so freaking excited to go to freaking FREAKING FREAKING northwestern!!! god!!! I am sooo pumped! We better all get in :)

F YEAH!!! Northwestern class of 2015 HERE WE COME!

I may be getting a bit carried away…

hahah nooo I’m having a blast laughing here.

sorry I am just so excited you don’t even know!

destroyer- it is a possibility that you may end up in a class with me next year and not even know it, since we’re both biological sciences majors and all…

i wish i could be as positive as you! i’m really scared about my admissions decision…

haha ya that would be funny. As long as we don’t mention the fact that we met on college confidential! funnny stuff
