My voting experience was fine. But am sad that today there have been several, and now several more, bomb threats called in to area voting locations. What is wrong with people.
The news I read is that the bomb threats are originating from Russia.
This benefits Trump because people have left without voting and itâs a blue area c.
Some of the polling precincts are being kept open more than an hour past the regular closing time so that people can vote.
I worry that people have gone home and will not return.
Anyone who is IN LINE before the scheduled closing time is allowed to vote. Every year there are many polling stations that are open hours past the closing time.
The âyear of the big screw upâ in Colorado, where we could vote at any place in the state! several places didnât close until midnight were the scheduled close was at 7 pm. I think I cleared just before 7 as I had kids to pick up from play practice, but if Iâd had to leave, I couldnât have gotten back in line.
Apparently, in THIS CASE, which is a very different circumstance, they said that the amount of time that was DISRUPTED by the bomb threat was ADDED to the cutoff time. They requested that the voting time be extended, not just to the last person in line at 7 pm. And the latest news says there were 38 separate bomb threats in metro Atlanta. So the actual VOTING TIME in DeKalb county was extended.
â As a result, voting hours were extended at five polling places in Georgiaâs Fulton County that were briefly closed because of bomb threats that were determined to be non-credible. Each voting locationâs hours were extended for as long as they were closed. The extensions ranged from 10 minutes at one location to 45 minutes at two locations.â
Walked in around 130pm. #3900. No wait.
Ballot this year was long. Lots of people voting, but there was no wait. I love the experience of voting in person on election day. The vibe is always great!
Voted this morning, only a couple of people on line in front of me. My polling place in MA does a paper ballot that you feed into a counting machine. I really liked the big voting booths with the lever that I used in NJ and NY much better. Anyway, the person voting in front of me, put in his ballot and then was asking where his receipt was. The poll worked explained you donât get a receipt, you can see on the machine that the vote was counted.
I miss the receipts
Back in the old days in Chicago, we use to call that proof of purchase.
H and I dropped off our ballots here on the west coast around 6:30 pm. There was a huge line waiting to vote.
Walked in about 3pm to no line. Gave my information, voted and exited in a few minutes total. Easy peasy.
Walked into my voting location at 10 AM.
No line. Received my ballot, filled it out, fed it into the machine and was done by 10:10 AM. Super easy.
Feeling better reading all these comments, I was thinking did I marry a wrong one? He didnât bring his eyewear, just randomly filled.
Mail in ballot which I chose to drop in the box at the county election office.
We had several pairs of cheaters at my polling place which we gladly lent to folks. We also have magnifying things in each privacy booth.
Everything at my polling place went very smoothly. It was a busy dayâŠbut it went very very well!
