Voted by mail. It was ideal because with ballot in hand, I could look up information online about the judges and coroner candidates, which helped me make a better-informed decision. Confirmed that ballot was accepted on 10/22/2024 via BallotTrax.
Usually vote by mail, voting in person this time. DH and I will go on his way to work and wait however long it takes, since we are a battleground state (what a term).
My mom was able to vote by mail, courtesy of her AL facility who made sure everyone who wanted to vote had a plan. S1/FDiL voted early, S2/DiL will probably do so as well.
We voted yesterday, in person, dropped off at a manned station, zero wait, large suburb, California. Felt good, thanked those who collected the ballots and asked if they needed snacks (they didnât).
Not a swing state. No early in-person voting allowed. H and I voted by mail, extra postage required. Had to get my signature on outer enveloped witnessed (or notarized) after providing copy of ID when making the ballot request. Also had to indicate why I was voting by mail; previously stated Iâd be out of town. This time I could use the over 65 with medical issues reason. H took the ballots inside the Post Office to mail. Several days later I was able to confirm theyâd been accepted.
I doubt my vote will make a difference, but I couldnât just sit this out. At least H and I donât cancel each other out the way my parents nearly always did.
Voted early yesterday and it took about 20 minutes total. There must have been a dozen volunteers in this tiny room, looking around, trying to find evidence of fraud. The person monitoring the scanner looked at who I voted for and didnât even try to hide it. Our county is going from computer count to hand count after the last election at the cost of many tens of thousands of dollars. The story has been featured on national news.
What?!
That is absolutely unacceptable - and illegal, I would think. Our ballots are in a sleeve, and we hand feed them into the scanner ourselves. No one is able to see what is marked. If a poll worker tried to touch my ballot, weâd have issues.
Please report this person.
Dropped off our pre-mailed ballots to a locked ballet box at a polling place yesterday on Sunday. Received âyour ballot was countedâ email today. No reason was needed to request ballot to be mailed. Polling place had about a dozen workers and about 50 voting stalls. No lines. I feel our county has made it as easy and convenient and organized as possible to vote, 7 days a week in person or at home.
Deep red non swing state, suburban location. I early voted with my daughter (for whom it is the first presidential election) on the first day of in person early voting. Even though our votes will make zero difference in our state and district, it was important for us to vote.
It was a steady stream of voters but moved quickly, lots of staff and well organized. But there was not enough space. Voting machines did not have curtains and stood touching each other. On the machine next to me was a mother with her two elementary school age children. One of the children was in my space (he had to, there just wasnât enough room) and could easily see who I was voting for.
IDs are always checked and there is no paper trail.
There was a police officer inside the location, something I had never witnessed before.
My husband works in a building that has an early voting location and he witnessed how they had to call the police to remove somebody with a derogatory and graphic t shirt endorsing a candidate. The guy did not want to understand that it was against the rules to wear this into the voting location and made a big fuss.
In person, early voting in my state. We had to go to a government center (not in our part of town) and there were a steady stream of people in and out. The voters and people working were all excited and seemed happy to be there. Very good experience.
There are pop up early voting centers in various parts of my city. I heard the one open today had long lines.
Former swing state, in a city, early voting. It went really quickly and smoothly. You press buttons to vote, it provides a printout, which you can check again, and you submit the printout. I like that it has a paper trail, but without the issues of either writing or punch holes. The volunteers kept everything fast and efficient. I had a similar experience during the last midterm, but we voted by drop box for the 2020 elections.
Ds1 and DIL voted at a pop-up center on campus.
Early voted last week in Chicago. Got there when they opened and line out the door 30 minutes later. Smooth process.
Filled out my California mail in ballot this morning and put it out for Val our mail carrier to pick up. I could have driven over to the library and used that drop box but (1) was lazy and (2) after todayâs news, Iâm not completely comfortable with that location because of issues with badly behaved middle and high school kids in the area.
I am wearing my âI Votedâ sticker, and know that I will get notified of the progress of my ballot as in past elections.
Not one chance on this earth would I mail in my ballot, or drop it in a box and go. Not in 2024 anyway.
Our drop box is at city hall which is right next to the police station, so hopefully no hi-jinks (or worse) there!
Purple state, mostly blue suburban area. Iâd just registered to vote about 2-3 week ago and couldnât request a mail in ballot until my registration was verified. (Moved cross country in September.)
Early in person voting opened a week and a half ago. I went to the closest polling site last Tuesday and got there 20 minutes after polling place opened for the day. County online wait tracker said no wait time, but it was wrong. Decently long line. Waited 45-50 minutes to get to front of line. Short ballot. Done in 5 minutes.
D and Sil went on another day tast weekâsame thing. County wait time tracker said no wait, but it took them an hour to get in.
I saw video of President Biden voting today.
They showed the President in the voting booth, not remarkable. Moving was the poll worker announced a first time voter and everyone clapped for them. (Except the secret service )
I voted last week earlyâŠand I was also a poll worker for two days of early voting this weekend.
We really moved people through quickly. Small town.
