<p>Definitely. The only downside I can see is the housing situation (I think U0 have higher priority/are assured of housing?). </p>
<p>As others have mentioned though, you can always take 4 courses/term (the minimum to be a full-time student) and graduate in four years. You’re actually in a better position as well since you’ll get earlier priority when choosing courses next year. Plus, in McGill’s eyes you’re still considered a [“First-Year”[/url</a>] (even incoming transfer students are included) so you still get invited to all the freshman orientations/events/etc. </p>

<p>Each faculty has their own regulations. Essentially though, once you’re in U1, you have a limit of eight semesters (4 years) to finish your degree. If you start in U0, you technically could stay for 5 years.</p>
