Anyone else think it’s a little weird that there aren’t many posts on this thread? I would think a ton of people are anxiously awaiting REA results. Am I in the wrong place? :joy:

Anxiously waiting as well.

I was wondering the same… i saw some threads for other schools and they’re super active. It’s crickets over here. LOL

My small school had a tonnnn of people apply here so it’s going to be interesting tonight. One girl is already getting in because she’s a commit, last year they only accepted the val and deferred about 5 people, rejected the rest. I can’t even afford to go here if I get in LOL bc I won’t get aid but I just want to get in to feel more confident about my harder apps coming up. Based on past trends, I can’t see them accepting more than 3 of us REA.

We’re also not confident our daughter will get in but she wanted to apply anyway. It’s her dream school. I know quite a few people who haven’t gotten in. Our neighbor is 80ish and he’s an alumna and his granddaughter was the val and didn’t get in. Plus by some slim chance she does get in, I can’t imagine we’d be able to afford the tuition. So far she’s already gotten into 5 other schools and is still waiting to hear from a couple more and has another application to submit this month.

I’m more nervous than my son. He hasn’t yet visited several of the colleges he applied to so says he won’t be excited about anything until he visits. I have been a HUGE ND sports fan since I was little and wonder if I’ll feel differently if he isn’t accepted. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:
Good luck to all the students!! You’ve persevered through an incredibly unusual high school experience.

I am expecting a denial, hoping for a deferral. Will be shocked with an acceptance based on the amount of applications ND and most every other school has received this year. May regret going REA vs RD.

When we visited they said to apply REA if you can present your best case then because they usually have a higher acceptance rate REA vs RD.

ND is big on legacies though and they admit that. So I’m guessing REA is only higher percentage due to legacies and athletes. That’s my uneducated guess. However, it just feels better to be in a smaller pool of applicants so that perhaps you get a slightly longer glance than in the huge RD pool. Anyway, I figure I’d rather get rejected earlier than later. Lol Good luck to all! :four_leaf_clover:

Looks like there is some info on the REA applicants:

I feel like they’re weird with admissions. My school is Catholic and the val almost ALWAYS gets in, even if they only have 2-3 extracurriculars (like simple & common ones like Key Club, NHS, a sport…etc), and then other people in the top 10 tend to get rejected if they have better extracurriculars. The val in my grade this year thinks he is a shoo-in and he literally does nothing, (really ticks me off because he also cheated his way to val), so I was lowkey hoping I can somehow get in and he doesn’t just so he knows his spot and can not have such a big ego.

I feel like I have decent extracurriculars (not going to state all here but it’s in my post history lol…fbla state president, paid social media intern, varsity athlete, etc) and I’m top 2% of my class, 1460 SAT, surrounded by acceptances on Naviance. I also listed over 10 relatives on my app who have attended (not parents though unfortunately), and some of them have attended 2-3 times, two were well-loved professors, etc. So it’s going to be interesting to see if I get in. I don’t know what to expect because this is my first selective school besides Hillsdale (not sure if they’re considered selective, I believe their acceptance rate for regular is 20-25% ish so I supposed it counts). I was accepted there, so I have high hopes from ND but admissions are just whack in general.

Best of luck to your daughter!
