Notre Dame Fall 2017 Transfer Thread

Just got accepted to Mendoza!!! I’m shocked and ecstatic at the same time, no clue how many others got in but let me know if anyone else has heard back!

@cybbe1 my confirmation email didn’t say. I knew I needed a history and english course to be technically on pace with the first year curriculum but i was told in April that I would be perfectly on pace if I just took a history course this summer. I’m studying abroad in July so I enrolled in a history course three weeks ago and am almost done

@bbnugent yeah a group me would be great. Im guessing a lot of us will be looking for roommates shortly

Hey guys! I applied to ND as a freshman last year but was rejected. I am thinking about transferring as a junior Theology major next year (Fall 2018). I will be doing a study tour abroad next summer, (It is a course that will count as one of my Spring 2018 classes. The tour takes place right after I get out of school and the final for that class takes place after the tour,) so I won’t be able to get my official final grades until the mid of June. Any chances that they will accept students without seeing the complete official final transcript? Also on CommonApp I didn’t see where I can put my extra curriculum stuff. I have done something meaningful during my first year and would like to let ND know. How did you guys indicate your extra curriculum in your applications? Thanks a lot!

apparently you can’t post links, so if anyone else wants to be in the group message, message me your number. Also @Fiona1997, it’s possible to be accepted without them having a final official transcript. I’m not sure why you can’t put your extra curriculars though! Maybe try contacting commonapp? I feel like I remember it being a pretty obvious section

Anyone else still waiting, or has everyone heard back? I haven’t received any email from ND for over a month…

Haven’t heard anything back yet. I imagine I would would have to take summer classes as I did not fulfill first year requirements. I am a calc 2 credit away from completing requirements. Hope I hear back soon so I know if I need to sign up for summer classes because if not I will just stay at my current school and work more this summer.

Thank you @bbnugent ! I found the extra curricular section. Hadn’t been using CommonApp for so long… So for the activities section, do I have to list the things I did in high school also? Thanks again!

@Fiona1997 I put high school stuff just because I did a lot in highschool and not as much in college. So I would say put whatever you think they would want to see

Hi! I was accepted to CA&L on 6/6 and paid my deposit on 6/7. If anyone has also already enrolled, how long did it take you to get the follow up email with info about housing, your netID, etc.?

@ndw809 it’s supposed to take like 2-3 business days. I think mine was like 3 or 4 actual business days but I confirmed right before a weekend and then holiday so it took like a week total

@bbnugent thank you! I really hope I can get a housing spot on campus so I’ve been driving myself crazy waiting for the email

@ndw809 it’s a lottery system until July 8th anyway, so right now, it doesn’t really matter when you get it lol

I’m getting the feeling that no acceptance by now is a rejection…any insight from anyone?

@plzacceptme22 the website says letters will be sent between June 1st and July 1st, so I wouldn’t lose all hope! I would call the admission’s office and say something along the lines of “I haven’t received a decision, so I just wanted to make sure I did everything I was supposed to” and they might even tell you right then & there! That’s just what I would do tho lol

I would say no news is good news. I haven’t heard back yet. My understanding is that if they haven’t accepted you yet they are still considering you. I have a friend who is a transfer and wasn’t accepted until the 23rd.

Accepted for next fall! But haven’t yet decided if I am going to transfer. Does anyone know if confirming your transfer earlier gives you a better shot at housing on campus?

@jqd1998 everyone who confirms by July 8th (I think) has the same chances. After that, it’s more first come, first served so your chances are slightly lower.

Has anyone heard anything at all?

Got in today.
