November 2010 Physics Discussion Thread

i verify the initial kinetic energy and maximum potential energy, q1-q2, %25, entropy means that heat will go from the hotter object to the colder object, strands going vertical upon copper wire touching it

let’s talk about the mirror, the frequency graphs in the beginning, wavelength depends on intensity, and others… What other questions do you remember?

what was the mudball question?

after they collide and stick together, then what?

and I don’t remember a question about wavelength depending on intensity
there was a question about spherical waves and which ones depend on distance from source, wavelength frequency or intensity

and another about maximum kinetic energy of a photon which depends only on frequency (and maybe something else, but not the intensity of the light)

^ maximum kinetic energy of a photon depends on frequency and the work function…? something like that.

yes maximum kinetic energy depends on frequency and work function…

i put intensity only… confirm???

what graph did you guys pick for the question asking “which periodical waves are out of phase”
i picked E, it was like a ■■■■■■■■ wave and there was another wave, which was its reflection over the x-axis and translated to the right a couple of centimeters.

^ ye i also put intensity only.

I think it was intensity only, since Intensity = Power/Area, and waves usually propagate spherically.
What did you guys get for the one that asked which graph experienced the greatest instantaneous acceleration? (it was one of the first questions)

It’s the one with the greatest slope. I forgot which letter, but I think it might’ve been B.

Was it the one that looked like a bell/normal curve?

@kinetix- That is correct because it had the greatest slope.

Does anyone remember the graphs in the beginning? I know I found some of those questions to be tricky.

^I pretty much love you right now abc543210 lol (no homo if you’re a guy :P) I was worried that I might get that one wrong. Sorry, but I don’t really remember the other questions :(

Do you guys think that it is safe to say that we’ve already discussed most or all of the HARD questions? I ask this because my wrong count is getting high haha

My memory isn’t serving me too well, because I can’t remember any more questions. Perhaps it’s because I only remember the lengthier ones. :P

In any case, I’ll keep thinking.

what’s a 10 omit 3 wrong?

That’s a 61 raw score. Pray that the curve will grant you an 800.

how have the curves been from any of your previous attempts? harsher or more lenient than the curve in the blue book?

Let’s start a consolidated list.

@jumpshooter This will be my first time receiving the test score. I don’t know what the curve traditionally is.

Consolidated list is coming soon.

well about those graph questions from the beginning , I remember one was which travel the most distanceand it is B ( the highest graph cut through the bell ) and one with highest acceleration is A ( the bell itself) , and one was the lowest speed at t2 ( i think ) is D the one closet to t2

I thought it was asking for the slowest speed at T1. :S

yea what were the answers to the mirror questions?
my brain wasnt working on the test so i didnt really draw ray diagrams and instead used general experiences looking into my bathroom mirror cut off at the waist

I put that he can’t see waist or knees and if he backs up he’ll see more
