Perseverance, have you looked into careers in compliance? A law degree and experience is definitely a plus, and bar membership is not required.
I work full time and started tutoring a high school student one evening a week. I’m a single parent, and last year knowing the empty nest was relentlessly drawing nearer, I took over a Meetup group on movies that was going to close otherwise. I’ve gone through the training for a volunteer job mentoring foster kids and am waiting for the paperwork to go through on that.
This spring plan to take an evening noncredit art history class (just four meetings) in the community college’s lifelong learning program. I’m in my mid-50s, so I may be one of the youngest there and don’t yet qualify for free tuition.
I’ve found that I still procrastinate on all those projects I never had time for like organizing closets and photo books.
