Hey WhistlePig - there’s an amazing young lady who is doing MARINEROTC at Harvard…she was active alot last year on these threads since she had a USNA Appointment as well. This young lady is doing Arabic as well. My Plebe and her just visited together at USNA on friday when she was down from Harvard and my Plebe is spending sometime over USNA’s break with her at Harvard. Yes there IS a military life there at Hah-vahd…it’s not easy, it’s not many, but yes, there are young people at ROTC there and this young lady and my Plebe will most likely end up at Quantico together since their hopes and dreams for military service/education/degrees are so parallel.

Funny story. My daughter has 2 high school friends who went to Harvard, so over Christmas she saw them and they discussed their now-in-common-friend this young woman MarineROTC. Of course they knew her, she stands out there in her uniform and for her ‘hard core’ attitude. My daughter was discussing the the differences between a Service Academy full-time military education and a civilian ROTC environment they told her they simply couldn’t imagine it.They told her the most ‘hard core’ military person they ever met was this young lady, except for my daughter. So that was high praise coming from a real Hah-vahd young man for the caliber of at least one ROTC person there.
