And for everyone: I recommend that you try to meet the people who are going on your particular program and city beforehand! It really breaks the ice and you can freak out together!

In my D’s group last year (summer China) there was one person chose a different summer program , so an alternate went. It does happen, because a lot of people apply for several programs.
@jjtell am i like the only one who is preparing myself for the rejection email? what are feelings what is life?! hopefully school work will keep my occupied! i cant narrow myself down to a date for the korean summer, but i predict that it will come out this week or maybe early next week. it’s definitely your time to shine!

Hey so can current SENIORS apply for the NSLI-Y Student YEAR program AND the SUMMER Program? Also, is anyone applying for the school-year programs? What would you do about your schoolwork?!
@TheMochi I’m planning on applying for a year program next year and I will be a senior, depending on when you’re birthday is, you can totally do it as a gap year. I think you can also do summer, it all depends on when your birthday is
I’m a current semi finalist for the year program(I’m a freshman) for the school work, my school said they’d take whatever I did and that I could take classes in the summer and online to make up whatever I lost. But my school is private so thy have a lot more wiggle room than a public school.
dont notifs generally tend to come out on fridays? @jjtell11 maybe they will come this friday or something. I think someone said that last year they came out on the 31st.
