Hi all. Have any summer alternates heard back and been accepted?
Does anyone know how many alternates are usually selected? I’m an alternate and I wanted to know what the chances were! 
I don’t know exactly, but I’m assuming that if a finalist says they can’t attend, an alternate of the selectors choosing is picked.
do you guys think that the rest of the year program semis will be notified this week?
Is China even done? If not, idk
Alternate for China Summer! I was a bit disappointed at first, but I got accepted to a different summer program instead Just FYI, on my consent/acceptance form that NSLI-Y emailed me to sign and mail in, the address was wrong. They were missing the last digits of the zip code~
@exoplanet99, when did you get your letter from NSLIY about alternate China?
I just looked it up and noticed that the address listed in my finalist letter also was missing the last 4 numbers of the zipcode. Does that mean there’s a chance they didn’t receive my signed acceptance letter in the mail?
@Zsophia OMG same!! My letter was sent back to me cause I sent it out without the full zip code so I emailed NSLI-Y. They told me to just resend it haha the real zip code is 20036.
@luv2sk8 I got my alternate letter on the first day they started releasing China Finalist emails (March 25th, 1:57pm), but I was too disappointed to post I was selected as an alternate until now LOL

@exoplanet99 It’s a little strange… mine wasn’t sent back to me but I’m a little concerned that maybe they didn’t get my form in the mail so I’m emailing them to make sure
I’m starting to go crazy, I haven’t heard anything yet…(1st choice Mandarin year, then Hindu, then Turkish)
@naturelover333 same here! First choice, Chinese, Second choice Korean, third choice Russian. I’m freaking out.
They did, however, send me back some medical forms that I forgot to sign. Could that be a good sign?
