My daughter actually declined her acceptance, so she could focus on other activities. She actually took the SAT her freshmen year summer and spent all summer studying and got over 1500! She actually got in again her junior year summer for NSLIY, which was amazing for her college applications because she could incorporate it into her college essays. I’m not saying you should decline, but my daughter extremely benefitted from that. As a freshman it can be very hard due to the younger age too.

Same I’m currently waiting on the email, hopefully it’s sometime soon since last year the Russian cohorts traveled the 24th of June I believe. Hopefully predictions are right and they’ll arrive soon!

Yes usually, they should be out within the next week and a half.
Has anyone applied to FLEX? Any idea on when the decisions will be released? My S25 received the semi-finalist notice from YES+FLEX in parallel; and YES decisions were issued earlier this week.

I am a semi-finalist for Mandarin summer as first choice and Russian summer as second choice. I haven’t received a decision yet. Does this mean I’ve likely been rejected for Mandarin or both, or is there still a chance I am an alternate or accepted to my second choice?
I haven’t received my decision yet but I wouldn’t jump to conclusions that we have been rejected. I don’t think they send all the acceptances for a language at the same time, so fingers crossed. I think if you arent accepted to your first choice you have a chance to be accepted to alternate, I think the alternate acceptances come out later

Turkey’s decisions haven’t come out yet, so you’re definitely fine.

They are still sending out some Mandarin I think, and Russian decisions have not been sent out yet so, I wouldn’t worry too much!!

How long are acceptance waves? like when they send out the acceptances to a language over how long of a period do they send them out?

They’re not clear to be honest, I think that’s why they say rolling, but I know some Mandarin have still been coming out earlier this week and the wave started last week.

Korean acceptances have not been released yet, and they will most likely still be a minute. They’re usually the last ones to come out.
Arabic summer acceptances came out March 15 (yesterday); don’t worry if you didn’t get it right then though, I know alternates are notified later on! Congratulations to everyone who was accepted, and if you didn’t, definitely apply again next year
