NU Accepting Hurricane Stranded Students

“Interested undergraduate students should apply through Northwestern’s School of Continuing Studies. The application deadline for those students will be extended to September 15. All courses in which space is available offered through the School of Continuing Studies will be open to these students. In addition, where capacity is available, the visiting students may enroll in undergraduate courses in other Northwestern schools.”

To me, that sounds like hurricane-affected students can take any class in the University that has space available. No school restrictions at all.

I am in contact with a Tulane friend who is applying to NU through this process. Yes there is an application process…I assume to make sure they can cut it academically.

As far as the government incompetence in the hurricane response, I blame federalism.
