The thread in the parent program discusses the concept and some other university iterations, but not NUin specifically. The NUin program is designed with different sites offering course work designed to keep you on track to complete your degree requirements in a timely manner. My D did NUin in fall 2012 and transitioned smoothly to main campus in the spring. She did another summer (a Dialogue) abroad, 3 coops and is set to grad in Dec after 7 semesters. The thread @PengsPhils linked is specific to NU.
