Our local public high school offers 22 different AP courses but the average SAT CR score was a low 496 and the math 498. The average ACT was a shocking 21. 62% of the 2800 students took the SAT last year. Only 80% graduated. Only 40% of the AP tests scored 3 or better. Is it any wonder that I am sending my 2012 daughter to a public boarding school next year? Her SAT and ACT scores were higher in 6th grade than the average senior’s at our high school.

They just take university courses instead.

SAT (school as a whole): 1640

Selective public school; most students don’t feel the need to take more than 2-3 AP classes because the other classes are much more enriching and valuable.
