Nursing at JHU

You are correct except that it is by no means necessary (or even very common) to do the first two years of undergraduate work at the Homewood Campus of Hopkins (i.e., Krieger School of Arts & Sciences or Whiting School of Engineering). The vast majority of students entering Hopkins’ nursing school have done their first two years elsewhere (often at public universities or community colleges). While the School of Nursing at Hopkins is arguably the best in the nation, there frankly are relatively few undergraduates at Homewood who are interested in a nursing career so the number of Hopkins’ undergraduates applying to the nursing school is quite small.
