Great photo! Our local station that did the show at the Needle really botched it. All we saw was a giant ball of smoke with the Needle somewhere in the middle of it… apparently, the view was not so smoky in person! And the much hyped drone show started a few minutes late and was totally out of sync with the rest of the scene! 
Maybe by the next year’s NYE they will be able to perfect the drone thing.
