They don’t even have to rush on Sunday as the BB HOF doesn’t open until 10 as you noted. The day can be sort of leisurely.
Really, I’ve driven back to CT after night events in Boston. The drive is pretty easy as there is little traffic. Which is a plus. The only thing that could screw this up is bad weather. If they drive back to the CT/NY line after the Celtics game, yes, it will be late, but they can sleep in and take it easy until they have to leave for the airport.
just a follow-up. Looks like rain in NY this coming weekend, and partly sunny in Boston on Monday. Temperatures look pretty good, in the 40s which helps. Hopefully the forecast is accurate and no snow.
Basketball HOF isn’t open on Mondays in the winter, so we’re screwed there. My itenerary looks something like this:
Fri mid-afternoon - fly into EWR, pick up rental car
Sat 9am - Statue of Liberty, no pedestal/crown, quick trip to Liberty Island
Sat 12pm - basketball game at MSG
Sat 4:15pm - World Trade Center Observatory (got the skip-all-the-lines tickets)
Sun 10am - Rucker Park
Sun 11am - Yankee Stadium tour
Monday 7:30pm - basketball game at Boston Garden
Tuesday mid-afternoon - flight back from EWR to SFO
Big gap between Sunday afternoon and Monday night, still trying to figure out if I should go to Boston on Sunday afternoon and get a hotel, or just go Monday. Plus still trying to figure out if I can fit anything else worthwhile in.
Google pointed to a bucket list for New England winters. Learning to curl is one that would interest me. I doubt I would have any long-term interest in watching on TV, but seems like it may be fun to take a beginners class (1.5-2 hours).
Various places offer such a class. Here is one just outside of Boston for Sunday night at 5:30.
