Sorry, TheDad, I posted the wrong link. It’s www.slowtrav.com. I have it in my favorites and so I remembered the name but not the URL. Highly recommend.

Huh. I haven’t checked this thread in a while. We currently have a suite at $255 at the Buckingham. I may see if I can do better. Thanks for the new suggestions.

Some in-laws will be out of town when we visit St. Louis on the first leg of the trip and since location isn’t as demanding a consideration there, I may try priceline.com for the first time in my life.

Dad, dad, dad. Location is always important. Even in a flyover city.

By far, the best WUSTL-visiting hotel is the Chase Park Plaza.
<a href=“StLouis.com domain name may be for sale”>StLouis.com domain name may be for sale;
It’s across the park from WUSTL, adjacent to one of the main student hang-out neighborhoods (CWE), adjacent to some wonderful World’s Fair era streets and a bustling example of a revived 1920’s hotel.

It’s hard to get into and tougher to get discounts…

Another choice in that neighborhood is the Parkway Hotel. I’ve never stayed there, but it looks mighty similar to Barnes Hospital architecture. My guess is that the WU Med School owns this hotel. <a href=“Naga138 : Situs Game Christmast Bonanza Dan Starlight Princess”>Naga138 : Situs Game Christmast Bonanza Dan Starlight Princess, http://www.cheaptickets.com/trs/cheaptickets/accommodations/room_selection.xsl

Well, we’re visiting my mother in-law, who lives in a residence home, not WUSTL.

Proximity to my sister in-law in Webster Groves would be a plus but I’m game to look at downtown.

And St. Louis isn’t a fly-over city; it’s a regional subsidiary of Chicago.

TheDad,
I did a business trip to St. Louis (Opera Theatre of Saint Louis in Webster Groves, specifically) for which I stayed at the Hilton St. Louis Frontenac . That was a couple of years ago, but I do remember that it was easy to get to and fro, the hotel was nice, and the price was affordable.

Thank you so much, Little Mother (Madrecita?).

TheMom says that’s a good location for us: half way between my sister in-law and my mother in-law and close to the freeway. Also, it’s next the the Plaza Frontenac, which has a good restaurant that TheMom wants to take me to.

Bingo!

Thank you.

i stayed at the waldorf astoria… terrible terrible place.

Ah, food! Of course, it’s important that you enjoy dining while traveling. There’s an excellent restaurant in WG the name of which eludes me at the moment. Let me check my travel itinerary that’s on my work PC.

St Louis could be suburb of Chicago, LOL. The Frontenac Hilton is next to the freeway and the Saks and Niemans mall. You’ll go everywhere in your car.

Just like home?
