My sibling always goes to McDonald’s when she travels. She likes to compare.

I’ve never been to a McDonald’s out of the country. Only used Starbucks to use their bathroom, because I thought bathrooms were free and not always easy to find. Boo on them for changing that.

I think everyone travels in different ways, it’s fascinating to see how others do it.

Never tried McD in other countries. Tried Starbucks in Paris… oh my. The coffee was so much better!!

We are Costco fans. We’ve been to Costcos in Canada and Mexico. Also pretty much in every state we visited, looking for local specialties like cowboy hats in Montana and Honolulu-made aloha shirts in Hawaii.

When we first moved to France, S19 did a tour of all the US fast food outlets here (except Dominos, which is still on his “to do” list). At least in his view, they were all better here than in the US. McDonalds is quite popular here, although the nearby Burger King has the advantage of an outdoor patio with sun umbrellas. Recently, though, he’s given this all up in favor of the sandwiches sold by his favorite boulangerie.

For many kosher travelers, a trip to McDonald’s in Israel (one of the handful of kosher ones; not all are kosher even in Israel) - is de rigueur!

Sounds good to a vegetarian - no beef fat used for the fries! (I was also intrigued by the mention of all-vegetarian McDonalds in India.)

You might like the “kosher dairy section” where you’re guaranteed no meat products at all (though it’s not vegan).

I went to a McDonalds in Paris specifically to try their macarons.

me, everywhere in the world:

I make business trips to India about once a year and have eaten at McDonalds several times. I believe the “all vegetarian” restaurant is only at one location near a pilgrimage site. The other McDs are not all vegetarian, although they do have some tasty (Indian/fusion) vegetarian options on the menu.

This would not surprise me, just as all McDs in Israel aren’t necessarily kosher. It’s very helpful that you pointed it out for future travelers to India!

I should also mention that none of the Indian McDs serve beef items on the menu!
Only chicken and fish.
