okay so i just browsed through pages 95-97 here on CC and according to my high hopes and calculations, there should still be some more invitations coming out for ED2 applicants. Though the last day that people received invitations last year was January 12, 2012 - we can still have hope even though January 12 for this year, 2013, has passed. I’ve concluded this because the 12th is exactly 2 weeks before the January Candidate Weekend of last year which was from the 26th-29th. This years candidate weekend is starting later - January 31st. So technically, the 17th could be the last day invitations will be sent out because that’s when it is exactly 2 weeks prior to the 31st. So we have two more days to stay hopeful and miserably anxious like all my fellow ED2 uninvited applicants

All of you who have gotten accepted. CONGRAAAAAAAATS and to all of us who are still in misery, sa va aller !!! do not give up…just yet

To the guys invited to the CW: would it be a disadvantage to submit my nomination essay again instead of the leadership one?

@HangingOnStars I was beginning to wonder whether you had received an invitation! Congratulations! :)

@FrancaiseLove Thanks! I just received it midnight last night Hope to see you there!
Currently wondering if I should bother with the leadership essay or just submit my nomination one… hmm. What did you do?

It’s really frustrating when I wake up and first thing i do is checking my email then find nothing

The awkward moment when I email a representative to ask if all the invites where sent out and she straight up tells me I got rejected lol. Why am I not crying rn.

naglaa, I am done… A lady from NYUAD told that all invites to India were already sent. Only few more invites weren’t sent yet.
I asked a reason as to why she thinks I won’t get invited and I told her my application number. She said that I indeed haven’t received any invites and when I asked her whether I was rejected, she gave me a very blurred answer which did not make much sense. She said that all of the rejection letters will be received only in mid feb. Until then those people who did not get invited won’t receive any news from NYUAD.
Naglaa, I wish you best of luck. I am really hoping that you will get an invite!

abrarski, how can NYUAD representative know whether you got rejected or n. Mine has no clue as to what is going on as such

I just looked again she is asistant director of admissions…my life sucks lol

Chiristina u still have hope Um gonna be accepted thy don’t reply mr messges regarding standardized tests even which mostly means it’s done and too late anyway today is the deadline for financial aid app and I don’t know whether I should send it or um barking up the wrong tree and all to no avail anyway for invited students, congratulaaaations! Hope u would make it to NYUAD it’s great school make the best use of it

I have been lurking on this forum for too long! I created an account just to say that you guys are great. Seriously. I have never seen a thread filled with great realistic optimism and passion filled with attempts to reach great dreams.
I have always wanted to go to NYU-- it’s been a dream for a few years now. When one of the admissions officer showed great interest in me, and convinced me that “I’m the student NYU needs”, I immediately got my hopes up worked on my essays for a month. But I haven’t received my email yet, and I guess that most of the invitations are sent.
There is still hope, but just to remind everyone, a rejection from NYU =/= rejection to a bright future. We can make our own future; we can Be passionate in life. I know everyone here hungers for knowledge, but we can start the search on our own. NYU(AD) is a great university filled with great people (I’ve met many of them). I definitely understand why it’s considered a dream school-- perfect students, faculty, and great friendships going on + prestigious education. But it’s not the end.
Please don’t give up on your dreams becoming the best people you can be, because a rejection letter is NOT worth dreading your life over. WE can do this. We can build our own paths to success. It’s not going to be easy, but from what I’ve seen in this thread, every single one of you are passionate learners;
Dream, strive, and achieve. <3 <3
btw @Christinaspirit, you are an amazing person. Seriously. You too, @naglaa.

I agree. This rejection is just motivation! We can have a great future and change the world and make it a greater place. Sure a degree from NYU AD would have been awesome. But as mentioned before we must not stop here. Everyone on this forum I believe will succedd and it would have been an honor to meet you guys but some things just aren’t meant to be. And although I basically just got rejected I don’t know if NYU AD has deferals we must not lose hope!

Does anyone know if NYU AD has ever deferred anyone In the past?

Has anyone from Africa or America been invited ?

Are u from Africa lalabee

Chachis96 I am north african, however an american citizen. Today is the 15 and I did not recieve anything in my inbox from NYUAD so, I am just wondering if i should just forget about it and move on, I really want to get in, so it is very hard waiting out, and not knowing. ( a feeling that we probablyall know )

Today, my counselor that nominated me received a mail from NYU saying that they were reviewing her nomination. I do not know whther any African has received anything. I’m Nigerian

lalabee I’m dyingg to get an invitation as well and I’m also an american citizen living in Africa. I really hope there are some more invitations headed our way.

Yes. I was nominated as well. Has anyone nominated been invited, I am really itching to know how they send out invitations to the CW, is it by nominations, countries, citizenship. I mean for Americans no visas are required to enter the UAE so do they send them later to Americans accepted… so stressing, it is all I can think about.
