NYU Abu Dhabi

Hey guys who applied to both NYUAD Aand NYUSH- post if you got requested for a NYUSH interview

@thawowtso I did apply to both RD. I haven’t gotten a reply from NYUSH and I am waiting for it

Hi guys  I am ED1 applicant who got accepted to the 2nd candidate weekend that is ending tomorrow however due to visa issues I didnt go. So i will be joining you on the 3rd weekend. I have been here for quite some time (since November) so If you have any questions feel free to ask. Hopefully I will be able to help :)

hey Ingush!
So I was wondering, will we be interviewed on the Candidate Weekend? Or is it just an opportunity to see what NYUAD and Abu Dhabi are like in general?
Oh and what did you write about in your Writing Assignment? Its a pretty broad topic

Saturday after lunch. It’s all on the schedule!

@Duresham3 Hi  Well its both. There will be an interview (one on one) but from what everybody said it is more of a casual talk on how you like the city, trip, university etc. Its also time for you to ask questions if you have any.
For the written assignment I decided to write about if ethnically diversified population can benefit my city. It is broad so you can write about anything you like :)

Can anyybody post the schedule pelase? Thanks!

Just a piece of advice for all those counting on their portfolios and extracurriculars to get them into NYUAD along with a below 3.6 GPA , I would suggest to not get your hopes too high. I was in the same pool (Applied SAT optional though, couldn’t give the SAT’s and sent about 10 of my internationally published creative writing pieces and a photography portfolio). NYUAD looks majorly at your academic and test scores and I personally think it’s all about scores with NYUAD than the extracurriculars, and a solid recommendation works too, as long as you are a top student.

Hi Global- you ask if they allow flexibility in defering to a later CW, and it’s clear you should attend the one you’re invited to, barring a real conflict. I hesitate to post this schedule, since it isn’t available on a public site, but I’ve gotta say, this sounds completely amazing, and hopefully NYU AD will see it as positive free marketing for the school:

Hi! Isn’t there another CW after the Feb 14th one for RD students? the website shows one for Feb 28.

hopeful93 yes there will  one person from my school is going to it.

Ingush, they already sent out invitations for the 28 Feb one?

Hi Global- if there is a pattern to the timing, then it seems like they might send invitations to the Feb 28 event up to two weeks prior. So maybe they will send invitations up until Feb 14? Just guess on my part, but it seems like they are able to pull travel plans together quickly. The window to respond to the invite is very short, so they can move forward with the students who accept.

Is it possible to not be invited if you were nominated as well?

hey anyone knows if there is a CW after 28th feb???

No. There aren’t any more CW’s after the 28th Feb one.

Has anyone going to the CW Feb 14-16 gotten a reply to their paperwork? We’re hoping to see a travel plan soon- need to make a plan to catch up on school work for missed days

@ hopeful, yes it is possible to be nominated but not invited, and vice versa.

Has anyone else received an invitation for the 28th?

It seems too early still
