What a coincidence @field12. My story is similar, I have been living in Canada all my life but I am originally Palestinian. After recent trips to the Middle East and volunteering there, I became really attached and that is what led me to apply to NYU Abu Dhabi. My essay was about when I volunteered in Jordan, with my poor fluency in Arabic, and how I dealt w/ cultural and language barriers.

I know for a fact that for January CW they sent out invitations two weeks prior to the official CW but for Feb CW they sent it out like three weeks before, so perhaps there is still a chance that they are sending some out next week, and itās just that their confirmation date will be different.

Personally, I have lost hope, but for everyone else I am sure there is still a chance! Good luck.

That is very neat! See, this is one of the reasons I fell in love with NYUAD in the first place. I find it fascinating to meet people like all of you and learn about your diverse backgrounds. Yeah so I also wrote my essays about my visits to the middle east, although I didnāt necessarily volunteer there or anything.

But defenitley donāt lose hope! I donāt know if you applied EDII/RD, or your stats, but Iām sure your passion and experience for culture will make up for the lack there of. I personally donāt have stellar test scores but Iām counting on my essays to hopefullt help me through. I guess only time will tell. But good luck to all of us, and donāt lose hopeā¦keep each other updated! :)

Hello everyone,
I called NYUAD NYC admission office yesterday, and the woman told me that āwe are still processing. ED2 applicants will get their notification in late Feb.ā When I asked her āhave all the Feb cw invitations been sent out?ā, she answered that āsorry Iāve told you all the things I can tell.ā But I know she means that they are still sending cw invitations. The admission office sounds so mysterious haha. I donāt think that I still have any chance because Iām from China and some girls from China have already got invited on Jan.25th. If NYUAD sends the cw invitations country by country (most possible i guess), then I may have missed nyuad now haha. Anyway, itās so good to meet all of you here. Iāve never imagined that I could meet such a lot of friends from different countries. Good luck to all of you!

You know I really canāt tell at this point. I am thinking itās over but at the same time they did tell you that they are in the āmidstā of sending out invitations.

Are invitation sent from the Abu Dhabi office or local offices around the world? Because I believe it is late evening right now in Abu Dhabi, buy you never know, perhaps thereās still a chance, especially if they said theyāre in the midst of sending out invitations. Hopefully there are still a few more left to be sent outā¦

But they didnāt specify feb. invitations. I think our only hope lies in there being a second confirmation date like feb. 2nd⦠otherwise itās already over and they sent them all out before the weekend(fri. and sat.)Does any1 know if a second confirmation date is possible?

Well March Invites wonāt be sent out until like Mid February, so I donāt think they would be in the midst of sending out other CW invitations. I think there may be a slight chance few people could get invites, but I wouldnāt count on it.

Chances may seem slim but you never know guys, donāt lose hope quite yet⦠And for RD applicants thereās still the March CW too. But @yardog, if you do call the admissions office please update us with what they say. Hang in there everyone

Any other RD applicants invited to feb CW? Do drop me a msg! And to those still waiting, donāt give up hope! There is still the March CW, keep showing interest and Iām sure it will pay off :)

@Delusional2016
It doesnāt seem like many RD applicants are going to the Feb CW, but I hope you have an amazing time. Let us know how it goes! And for the rest of us letās keep our hopes up for the March CW, we still have a chance

Just out of curiosity, does anyone know the number of students who get invited to each CW, because this year theyāre only having four CW instead of five like in previous years. Also, do you know how many student NYUAD is planning on accepting this year? I heard that they were going to increase the incoming class size this year, but I do not know if thatās true or not.

@field12 So I know that in the Dec CW. there were 75 students and about 50 were accepted. However the numbers for each CW do change here and there. Sometimes there may be a 100 at one, or 80 at another. If NYU AD accepts approx. 200 students per year, then they need to select around 50 students from each CW in order to attain that number.

Does that help answer your question or at least give you a rough idea?

I called in yesterday, and surprisingly they said they are still sending out February CW Invitations. Perhaps some of you may get it this week.

I regret so much that I didnāt check on this thread earlier. I obviously missed a lot of discussions here⦠Anyway, Iām also RD invited to Feb CW. Actually no one needs to freak out because thereās definitely a March one coming and Iām sure thereās no real difference between being invited in the first round and the second round, other than trivial factors like when the application was submitted etc. To those of you who are going in Feb, Iām really excited to meet all of you! Iāll start dropping messages since Iām obviously the late one hereā¦

NYU AD just released their 2016 stats! Over 15,000 students applied to both NYU NYC and AD. That is crazy. Check it out: [NYUAD Receives Record Number of Applications for Class of 2016 (Salaam)](<a href=āLatest News - NYU Abu Dhabiā>Latest News - NYU Abu Dhabi)

Wow those numbers are much higher than I ever expected. Itās nice to see that more people are learning about NYUAD! Well since they are apparently still sending out invites to the February CW and thereās still the March CW, good luck to everyone on this thread still waiting anxiously, and keep the rest of us nervous, attached to our email applicants updated! Lol :)

The record number of applications tells you two things - 1, you were not crazy to apply and 2, if you did not get in it was not anything you did or didnāt do - the competition is so high. If you are really dead set and did not get in, and if you can, consider a gap year, do something that will make you stand out even more and re-apply next year.
I keep my fingers crossed for all of you.
